I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to formally file a complaint regarding the excessive storage fees being charged by Tim E***, the owner of Southside Customs, for my vehicle that was towed there following an accident on January 14, 2024.

After the accident, my car was towed to Southside Customs, where it has remained in the same spot since it was dropped off. Despite the owner informing my insurance company that my vehicle was totaled, I have made several attempts to retrieve my car. Each time, I have been met with resistance and unreasonable charges.

Mr. E*** is currently charging me $100 per day in storage fees, which has accumulated to over $16,000. This amount is not only exorbitant but also unjustifiable given that the vehicle has not been moved or serviced since it was towed. In a text message, Mr. E*** indicated that he would obtain the title and sell my car for $16,500, effectively holding my vehicle hostage.

I believe these practices are unfair and potentially illegal, as they exploit my situation and place undue financial pressure on me. I am requesting your assistance in investigating this matter and taking appropriate action to address these excessive charges.

Thank you for your attention to this urgent issue. I look forward to your prompt response.

    Dear
    Sir/Madam,

    On January 15, 2024
****** ****'s 2016 Ford Taurus was towed to Southside Collision. On January
17,2024 ****** **** personally came into Southside Collision and signed an
Authorization to Repair and Direction to Pay for her vehicle to be handled as
    an ******** claim #**********. ***** ****** from ******** at ************ was
assigned to her claim. On January 22, 2024 Southside Collision sent ********
photographs of the damaged Ford Taurus as per their request. ******** then
responded, based upon photos, that the vehicle was a TOTAL LOSS. On February
29, 2024 ****** **** came to Southside Collision and cleaned out personal
belongings from her vehicle but, DID NOT RELEASE her vehicle for ********
to pick up. At that point she informed Southside Collision that her Attorney
*** ******** at ************ was going after ******** and was handling the
claim because ********'s offer was too low. Southside Collision informed Mrs.
**** and her Attorney of the charges that were still incurring. On April
4, 2024 ********'s Total Loss Department called and informed
Southside Collision that Mrs. **** still had not settled and that they
were no longer responsible for storage charges. On April 8, 2024 Southside
Collision re- emailed ****** **** and her Attorney ALL current charges due at that
time. During the entire time this vehicle has been at Southside
Collision, both the owner and her Attorney-*** ******** have been aware of
charges that are incurring. It is to our knowledge, at this point, that ******
**** has now settled with ******** choosing to keep her vehicle as an Owner
Retain. As for Southside Collision's charges on total loss vehicle claims, ALL
insurance companies have paid and do pay our same rates and are usually handled
in a timely manner within 5-7 business days on average. ****** ****'s
vehicle has been here over 8 MONTHS and is probably the longest ever for
Southside. As we discussed with her Attorney, Mrs. **** should have paid her
bill months ago and had her vehicle moved out of our lot .

    In closing, Please
remember ****** **** and her Attorney *** ******** have been well aware of ALL
charges the entire 8 months the vehicle has been sitting here at
Southside Collision. ******** has paid out to ****** **** on her claim for the
Ford Taurus, Attorney *** ******** is done with her, and now she wants her
    car......

    Please contact Southside
Collision via email at ****************************** to discuss this
issue any further. This vehicle was deemed a TOTAL LOSS by
******** insurance company and the owner knowingly left the vehicle at our
    facility with charges incurring.

    Thank you,
    Southside Collision
