I hired Handyman connection of blue ash to fix my top deck leak. I paid them in full after they said the job was completed. The next week it was leaking in the same spot again, when they sent someone else out and fix it the damage was once again leaking but even worse than before. After the 3rd time someone came out they told me they couldn’t do anything. I asked for my money back for the original job they didn’t finish, and the company ghosted me. Also they have a 1 year warranty on all services and have violated that agreement. I had another contractor come out and fix the issue first try. And I still have heard nothing from handyman connection.

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, reasons for rejection are included below.

The company came out and told me they would be able to do the job, after they told me the job was COMPLETED I then paid in full for the job. After one week the work they did didn’t fix anything and just made the problem worse. They not only conducted bad business they also violated their ONE YEAR warranty and their company policy. They also only took around $300 off originally because I’m a military vet and it was discounted. Not because of the horrible work they did. I also had to have another company come out and repair the damages they caused. Which is once again a violation of their warranty since they wouldn’t answer me anymore.

They state that they didn’t charge me for the second job, which is true. Because the second job was the FIRST job they did wrong and incompetently. And this is a sad attempt to make themselves look like they did good work, and got paid a honest amount of money for a job they never actually completed after lying to their client. And violating their policy after already having paid in full for the job previously described which is in violation of multiple Ohio consumer laws.

    Regards,

    December of 2023 - March of 2024

The company sent incompetent handymen not supervised by a manager who damaged the tiles on new floor and new countertop by using their machines in the kitchen.
On top of this, the person who they sent to do the floor didn't uproot the old one and just laid the floor in top of the old one. We didn't know this was a problem at the time as we are totally new to this, however because they did this the transition strips were not fitting correctly and when I was trying to have that issue rectified every person I spoke to who is in construction with appalled that they did not remove the floor before they put the new one in.
They finally sent out the manager to observe the problem after I took pictures and made numerous complaints. He told me that they would pay for the damages done to the countertop and fix the flooring.
When I was following up on this I was informed
    (on 3/29):

"Hi, I have received your email. I'm communicating with the previous owner that owned this location prior to January 1st. He is responsible for redoing your flooring. I'm trying to find out if he wants us to go ahead and do it and reimburse us or if he has someone else to handle it. I have reached out to him again to see what needs to be done and as soon as I resolve it with him I will get back to you. We have not forgotten about you, I apologize for the delay."

    Then (4/8):
"Hello, I've spoken with the previous owner. He wants to credit you the $785 you paid for the flooring against what is currently owed for the backsplash. His assets are currently frozen and he is unable to refund it directly to you but we are trying to work out a payment plan with him once he gets his finances get resolved. The backsplash was done after he sold Handyman Connection to the new owners so the amount for the backsplash is due to the new owners. I expressed all of your concerns regarding this job and that was what was communicated to me."

I have received no money or contact
