I have a 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan with a p304 misfire code. The first mechanic was not able to figure it out and I finally took it to Hilliard Tire and Auto with only a check engine light on and rough idling at 35-40 mph. It started out at about $1900 for new fuel injectors and would be a couple hours to do. Then several days later I call back and now they tell me that a bolt broke off the engine and it will be $4000-$6000 to replace the engine. I said no. They said they would put it back together and just charge me labor. A couple hundred dollars. Again several days later and still nothing. I had to call Hilliard police to get my vehicle back for $813. They threw the old injectors away and charged me for the screw up. Since getting the van back it still rough idles at 35-40mph (With new injectors) and I can't take it on the highway. Three friends from church one is a diesel mechanic and told me the name of the part in the engine that is broken. It's not a bolt and does truly need a new engine. I asked for the name of their insurance company the employee I spoke to told me "You drove it away" and won't give me the name of the insurance company but said he will contact the owner. I paid $3500 for the van two years ago and it has been solid. 129000 miles. Google search shows comparable year, model, mileage is $5000-$6000. I have been offered $450 salvage but I have $1100 in it. $330 for an oil change and tuneup and cleaning the fuel injectors from the first mechanic and $813 from the second mechanic for reman fuel injectors and breaking my engine. Again they threw the old injectors away but charged me for their mistake and broke the engine while working on it. I don't know if I can contact the State Attorney General. I want reimbursed the injectors plus a comparable Dodge Grand Caravan. I have had to cancel several gigs as a balloon twister and being disabled and low income too trusted what was supposed to be a legitimate business.
