1 starAbsolutely horrible service. When we purchased our van brand new last year, we noticed 2 panels were cracked or other slight damage. They put it in the contract and promised to fix them. We took our van in soon after purchase, had it inspected so that the service department could order relevant parts, and left. Nothing came of this. We then proceeded to follow up with *****, the service manager. We were then asked to bring our van in for a SECOND TIME after I had explained that nothing resulted from our first attempt well within required timelines. ***** PERSONALLY inspected our van, and told us that he would get what was promised. Fast forward several weeks, we followed up again after absolutely zero communication. ***** acknowledged that he dropped the ball over the phone and in writing, and as you see from the text screenshot provided, promised to make it right. We were then informed that nothing could be done because it was outside of the service window. Absolutely unacceptable. We did everything right here and the service department has completely failed us numerous times along with others at this dealership. Action will be taken immediately. How can you admit fault, yet result in this decision? Screenshot proof of documented conversations provided on their ****** Review page.Review fromKolton J

1 starMy wife and I traded in a 2022 ******* ****** for a 2017 ******* MKC on 10/3/2024. Our sales person ****** ******* was amazing and did everything perfectly in terms of sales, we would 100 times work with her again. But that is where the good things ended. Upon completing financing, and driving the car home(less than 10 miles), my wife hops in the car the next morning and starts it up and the dash showed a check engine light. So we brought the car back into the dealership to get it checked out and turns out after all of the codes were processed and engine looked at, we had 2 cracked cylinders and were told that the dealership would handle it all and not for us to worry about the situation. They gave us a rental to use until the car was fixed, no expenses were to come out of our pocket for the rental or the ******* engine issue. I go in to check on the car 2 different times and the 2 sales managers, *** ****** and *** ********* both give me a completely different answer on when the payoff amount was sent to the loan institution. In that moment, all credibility for this establishment was lost. 2 weeks go by and we get a call saying that the dealership wont pay for the engine damage and that we have to pay roughly $6,000 for a new engine, but that they would cover 25% as a charity towards us. On top of that whole issue, we get billed for the initial trade in car for a car payment and an insurance lapse fee. We have lost around $1,200 dollars so far in this process as a single income family. So we call our financial institution and ask if a payoff amount had been sent it, (mind you this is 2 weeks later) and they said they never received a payoff amount for the trade in. So we now have payed for a car that we shouldnt have in our name, but still do. But the fun doesnt stop there. The new loan for the the *******(new car) was never put into effect as of 10/25/2024 as we called the new loaner and they said that there was no loan for the new car in their system.Review fromC H

1 starWe purchased a car here in 2021. Within a month an engine went out. It was replaced and within two years the timing belt broke and damaged the engine. According to the gold plan the engine is guaranteed for life. We have called several times and no one will call back. I have also emailed the owner twice and have never heard back.Review fromRodney A.

1 starUnfortunately, l can't leave a 0 star rating. I live in *************, 130 miles from John Hinderer Honda Powerstore in *****, ****. They had a particular motorcycle l wanted so made the drive to see it. I looked at the bike and talked to a salesman. We agreed on a deal. Problem was the bike needed a battery and rear tire, so l couldn't get it that day. It took a week to get parts and perform repairs. They let me know it was ready so I made the 130 mile drive again. Test drove the bike and said ok, so went in to do paperwork. Now the bike is magically $4,500 more than what the salesman and l had agreed on. The salesman was shocked and very apologetic, but the sales manager was a total d*** about everything. Never said sorry, no apology, just rude. So, I ended up driving 520 miles and spending 2 days for nothing. HORRIBLE customer service (from the Sales Manager, not the Sales Person), although l know he will get blamed for it.Review fromJake C

1 starI don’t trust them. Looking at other BBB and Google one star reviews this seems to be a trend with used vehicles and service issues. We bought this van less than two years ago. They pushed us on a warranty acting like it would cover everything and it ended up covering one thing, thankfully. However we have had thousands of dollars in work since buying it. Here is the list. New tires New brakes and rotors including calipers Timing belt Transmission flush Spark plugs Torque converter (some miracle it got covered under warranty). Alternator replacement. Rocker arm pressure switch. Also there is an issue with the right sliding door needs the entire rolling bars assembly or whatever it is all replaced but can’t afford to do that when it’s like $800. My preferred repair shop now (because I don’t trust Hinderer Honda) said they at some point we need the shock absorbers and axel shaft assembly replaced. Now as of today 7/11/2024 we have AC issues. We believe it’s the evaporator coil. I’m taking it to my local shop to have it repaired though because I can’t trust you all anymore. I’m sorry but it’s just beyond ridiculous to have this many issues in less than two years!!!! I have owned so many Hondas and it just seems too coincidental that I buy from you all for the first time and have this many issues!!! This is THOUSANDS of dollars in repairs. At this point with the AC now having problems I have no choice but to start having this investigated further by someone other than me. It’s shocking and extremely suspicious.Review fromMelissa B

1 starWhen I went in to get a used cash car .. mind you my 70 year old mother was who was there looking for me .. I live 45 min away… so they not only took advantage of someone over 70 they wait for me to get there and I said I wanna drive it.. well I gave him my license and he handed me keys and gets in the back seat. Like why I have NEVER had anyone ride with me on a test drive.. he would not let me go to the freeway told me to turn around at the light and head back.. I kept hearing a noise he kept saying it was the o2 sensor which I knew about cause they was waiting on the part to come in.. we do the deal .on my way home on the freeway now I was going 70 I have a video of all this on my phone but the rpm’s was up on 4500-5000 and was not dropping the engine was not shifing back down my whole trip on the freeway they never went down it was on 5000 the whole trip literally… they told me bring it back gave me a rental and put the sensor in.. wrote on the paper that it was test drove and fixed .. low and behold on my way home in the car again the stupid thing does the same thing and they say it’s not the transmission it was a sensor well I’m no dummy I been thru a transmission in my years I know what it is.. so I’m screwed cause they are rude money hungry ppl who prey on the elderly so sad but soooo true and god is my witness they need to take this hunk of junk back and give my elderly parents their money backReview fromYodit H

1 starWORSE car buying experience ever! John Hinderer Honda sold me a vehicle with spray painted black rim and with acid rain on driver door. I was told a quote to fix the acid rain on day of purchase, which then made me comfortable to buy the car. Few weeks later they were FINALLY able to get my car in to get the acid rain fixed. I waited about a hour and when my car was ready the acid rain was STILL there!!!!!! I ask the body shop manager why is it still there she goes “ I was only told to buff it”. To make matters worse the sales manager was out of office that day. Bodyshop manager advised she needs authorization from the sale dept to fix it. The ONLY reason I purchase the car in the first place was because I was guaranteed the acid rain will be fixed and spotless. I called Honda who gave me the HARDEST time of my life!!! The finance department is horrible they are VERY rude and have absolutely no customer service. Both the finance manager and finance assistant made this process HELL. Then FINALLY about a month into having the car is when they schedule me for my SECOND appointment to fix the acid rain. I then noticed the paint chipping on my rims (spray paint) I was under the impression at time of purchase the rims were made black from the manufacturer not (spray painted). I did not know Honda sold cars with spray painted rims. I recently called finance team to cancel any additional contracts that involves me directly communicating with them. They will/are purposely IGNORE you after they get there money I have called multiple times and no one is returning my call. I lost 100% trust in John Hinderer Honda. I highly recommend to NOT purchase anything from John Hinderer Honda. Save your money and time this place is a scam and are treating people horribly after you sign. DO NOT SHOP HERE!!!! You will regret it.. Address: 1515 Hebron Rd Heath, OH 43056 United StatesReview fromMichael B.

1 starIt was a Saturday Labor day weekend 2022 , I received a call from a ***** saying she was with a ************ that does the Financing for *********** Honda ,She asked for my information and put me on hold while she said she pulled up my credit report ,which the call itself sounded all bogus ,so anyway she said I was Aporoved just bring my ID and proof of Income she even sent me an E-mail which looked Bogus she titled it "Credit Yes" and it said (Lender Decision) (APPROVED) again it did not say Pre-Approved ,So I woke up my Handicapped Sister to give me a Ride which was 1hour away, which my Sister was exhausted from just having surgery, and this whole time I had a gut feeling that this was all Bogus ! So I arrived at the dealership and after talking to the car sales man , I knew it was all a Scheme to get me there to the dealership! I was and am still pissd off!Review fromChristine

I purchased a used vehicle in August 2021 and they assured me it had been reviewed by maintenance as it was not able to be test drive when we came to see it. The sales staff were pushy and rude to a female shopper. The car had to be taken back several times as they could not correctly diagnose the engine light nor leaking fluids. They rudely suggested that my younger driver may have caused the damage. They do not care about the buyer only the end dollar. I chose to have the vehicle serviced elsewhere as their staff are not trained, horrible communicators and only care about your money not you. I would suggest car shopping elsewhere.John Hinderer Honda
