This company replaced a septic lift station pump and it turned out that my original pump still worked fine. I decided to just let that go, but now the new pump stopped working and I found out they didn’t use the proper waterproof junction box for the underground connection, so when the water level rose due to a power outage, it shorted out and fried the connector plug. If the plug was properly installed and waterproofed, the pump would have simply kicked on when the power returned. When I called the company, they pretty much told me tough luck.

The customer contacted our company with a problem with their septic lift station. After pumping and cleaning the tank we found the existing lift station pump to be unreliable. The pump and electric coupler were replaced with "like for like" components. The new pump had a 1 year warranty. Approx. 2 months after the warranty period expired the customer contacted our company with a problem that the electric coupler on the lift station pump had burnt out. The customer requested additional repairs be made for free. The request was denied due to the warranty period had ended.

    Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because: Regardless of the warranty period, it was determined that the company did not properly install the electrical connection. This is the reason it failed. I had no way of knowing this until after the failure. I still have the old pump that the company claimed to be faulty and it is in perfect working condition. So they replaced a pump that didn’t need replaced and installed an electrical connection in a sump pit that wasn’t waterproof. A failure on their part.
