    I visited the Pure Smiles Findlay on November 28, 2023, as a new patient for a regular cleaning I had scheduled. I was informed that I could enroll in the Healthy Smiles payment plan by paying $400, which would cover: 2 Healthy Mouth cleanings per year, 2 dental exams per year, all x-rays needed to complete the exam, one-time fluoride therapy application, 1 dental emergency exam, and 15% off all other services for the year. I have attached their flyer with these details. Since I was required to undergo an exam before receiving the cleaning, I chose to enroll in the payment plan because it covered both the exam and two cleanings per year, making it affordable for me as an international student. I was not informed of any conditions that would disqualify me from the plan before I entered the room to see the hygienist. However, after the exam, I was told I was not eligible for the plan because I needed a different type of cleaning not included in the plan. I was informed I would need to pay over $1,000 for this additional cleaning. At that point, I felt I couldn't afford this amount, so I ended the service. However, I was told I needed to pay $392.00 for the examination. I have attached the receipt for this payment. I am very frustrated because I did not receive any dental cleaning services, yet I was charged nearly $400 just for the checkup. This situation seems very unreasonable to me. Had I known that there was a possibility I would not qualify for the plan after the exam, I would not have agreed to the exam in the first place. I feel like I was lured into a scam, only to be told upon exam that I couldn't receive the services at that price because my teeth did not qualify for the plan's services. This cost is too expensive!
    I hope the BBB can facilitate a resolution for me: either I receive a full refund, or Pure Smiles enrolls me in the payment plan.
