***** B********** agreed to purchase 4 furnaces for 1000 each and install them at our church. We gave him the 4000 and he purchased the 4 furnaces. He asked for 1800 for parts 450 for the city permit and 4000 to install all 4 furnaces. We gave him 2430. 1800 for parts 450 for permit and a little toward furnace installation. He told us multiple times he would come install but never did. He then claimed he dropped off parts when we requested them so that we could hire someone else but couldnt answer who let him in the church. He repeatedly stated he dropped off the parts. When he could no longer lie about the parts he started making claims that we owed him money for previous work in 2021 we were not aware of he never mentioned before we always paid what he asked. We asked for that bill he never provided it like he said. Then when confronted about refunding the 2430 so that we can contract with someone else he said we had to pay him for his brain. He ran off with the church money. He must have forgot we have documentation of the work agreement and receipts for the money paid. Please help us get the church money back. Thank God this wasnt a terrible winter. Thank you

      Business Response

      Date: 02/22/2023

Approximately the 2nd week of January 2023 ****** ********* ******** came to our office to find out what had transpired. We printed off a copy of the Estimate to install the furnaces which showed the amount paid and what was still owed before work would begin, Receipt of what was paid and a copy of an outstanding Invoice for work done in 2021 that had not been paid. He stated that this was the first time that a Deacon had seen or been given any paperwork for work done or requested to be done. ****** had failed to provide them with the same paperwork and receipts that we had provided her. We had let the Deacon know what amount was paid and that ****** stated she would be coming back in on that following Tues. to pay the remainder of the downpayment. She failed to keep her word and did Not come back to pay the remainder of the downpayment. ****** called ***** on his cell phone numerous times stating she would be in to pay the remaining of the downpayment due before the work would begin. She failed to do so. She continued to call ***** trying to get him to start the job of installing the furnaces knowing she still owed the balance of the downpayment before work would begin and without paying that balance. The materials- Sheet Metal- ***** and one of his helpers put the material in the same room that the furnaces were to be installed in approximately 1 1/2- 2 weeks after she made the partial payment - so just before November of 2022. One of their people that had a key let him in to put the material in the room where the furnaces were going.

The reason we did not start the installation of the furnaces is because the Full downpayment was never made as ****** failed to keep her word every time she said she would be in to pay the remainder of the downpayment. ALL materials were left there in the room where the furnaces were to be installed. The reason no refund has been made, as we explained to ****** ********* ******** when he came in, is because of the outstanding invoice from 2021 in the amount of $1,385.00 and for work that had been done to get the furnaces ready to be installed, 14hrs@$125.00/hr, along with several consultations by phone with ****** totaling $1,750.00. As things currently stand ****** ******** ******* owes us $700.00 for work done. Please see attached. Thank you .
