We hired Tom Gardner LLC to remodel our bathroom in December 2020. We had a signed contract for all materials and labor, with a commitment to complete our work by the end of April. Before our job completed, Tom and his designer took a $200,000 job for a whole floor remodel in *******. We were put to the back burner in the middle of our selection process. COVID was just beginning to heat up so we gave the builder plenty of slack, since his crews were compromised, he lost a major team lead etc. We put a lock box on our door in May so he would have free reign to come and go whenever he could. I tried in vain to get a revised commitment and schedule to complete the work. Finally in August of 2020 with only drywall, rough plumbing /electric complete, and 1/3 of the tile work, we met with Tom one final time to hope for a recommitment to our job. He was sorry but said it was mostly just him now. But he said “what little work was left” could be completed in three weeks. Foolishly I trusted him to complete the job. He asked for a 3rd draw to cover extras and finish lumber for trim and beams etc. Fast forward 3 weeks: He claimed he had much of the beam wood purchased and cut (at his home) and just needed to finish them and stain them. I challenged him to prove that with a picture. Surprise, he never sent a pic because he never bought the wood. That money went to his ******* job most likely. He left me with a floor heating thermostat that never worked for which he never agreed to pay restitution. He left me with a shower trap that was plugged with rock hard joint compound that a plumber I hired could not even drill out. We had to cut our kitchen ceiling to fix the trap from below. I keep the trap as a reminder of my colossal mistake hiring him. He never agreed to pay for that work either. I bought my own doors but his contract included those doors. I can go on... I hired all the finish subs to finish the job by May 2021. He is NOT a LLC as his bIz card suggests. BUYER BEWARE!
