I had Knapp Automotive repair a misfire that I had an engine light on for. He was to replace the spark plugs, coils, and gaskets/seals.
He took a very long time. When he was done working on it, he told me that he needed to put oil in it because it was low. This definitely Could Not Be. I change my oil very regularly. And on top of that, I'm old school and check my oil every time I get gas. That being said I knew something was off. But I told him ok, and what oil I used. He told me he was going to drop it off at my house. I've never had a mechanic shop drop off my vehicle at my house when they were done before?? So that was red flags. When he got here, he was in a hurry and already had a ride waiting for him. I handed him his money and with a big tip. He looked at it and I told him it was his tip. Instead of smiling and saying Thank you, he said oh, and had a guilty look on his face. And he said he has to get going and took off very quickly. My family had sat down to eat and visit for a bit. Then I had to go to Walmart, so I started it and the engine light came on. It was sputtering. When I drove away, the engine light started to blink. So I took it home and parked it. I checked the codes with my code reader, and it read 3 misfires. The 3 he supposedly did. So I called him and messaged him, he didn't answer till the next day and then said, he'll have to read it with his code reader, and he'll be over. I waited all day and he never showed. I called and messaged him and he wouldn't answer or respond. So I drove to his shop and he was there standing talking to his buddy. When they seen me they both grinned at each other. And then he came to the door saying he's been busy all day and didn't have time to message me. He then came out and checked it and said it had to be my timing going out. I told him that there were no timing codes and he shrugged and said sorry I don't know what to do. He didn't want to open it back up and check his work. Told me to go somewhere else.
