We hired Handyman Connection of Mason to do a deck project. The project was not successful, and they built a structurally unsound deck. They had no idea what they were doing and ruined a lot of materials we paid for. They agreed to fix the problem and then ended up walking away from the project. They did not stand behind the workers or the damage they caused. Their guarantee is fictional. Stay away!

Per our contract, the homeowner was required to pull a permit which in Ft ****** would have required a drawing that met code. They did not pull the permit and only sought specifications after Handyman Connection constructed the deck that they agreed to. Handyman Connection did agree to replace 5 deck boards that the homeowner deemed unsatisfactory. However, when asked several times if they intended to pay the balance on the contract. They refused to answer. It was for this reason Handyman Connection walked away from the job. Also, the homeowner was responsible for a great majority of the damaged materials as they removed an entire section of the composite deck boards rendering them unusable. The guarantee Handyman Connection offers our customers states ' the guarantee becomes effective when the customer's complete payment is made payable to Handyman Connection and is credit to our account (they paid $0)' our guarantee is for labor only. Also, Handyman Connection has confirmed that this homeowner NEVER pulled a permit for this deck and as such should Ft ****** be notified of a code violation they may be required to remove this structure and start over.

HORRIBLE QUALITY & WORKMANSHIP - Hired this company to renovate a small bathroom based on reference from a friend. I bought the material and they quoted $4500 for the job, which Rob (Contractor) said would be finished in 7 days, plus asked for $475 to paint the remaining wall area after tiling. My urgency was to remodel ahead of a family visit and given the quoted timeline, I hired them. The contractors (father & son) were professional and on time initially, but midway trough the job stopped coming. After days of not showing up, with no communication, I called & said he was tied up with a kitchen renovation and would be back the following week, making the timeline very tight. Once back, and laid tile, I noticed significant defects which the contractor indicated would not be noticeable once grout was placed. When done, I pointed at significant defects which he said he could not fix because the tile was already in place. Even the painting was horrendous as parts of the baseboard were poorly painted and despite the paint area being small, never painted the inside of the door, leaving the task for me to complete. Once my family showed up, 2 days after job was completed, floor tiles were coming loose which created a safety hazard. Two weeks later, after my family left, I had to call another contractor to fix the issue by replacing the entire floor with new tile, including the under tile baseboard that was incorrectly placed. The new contractor was perplexed at the poor quality, with tile glue improperly applied, tile that was cut incorrectly, in summary, just a mess. When I called Handyman Connection to share my cost and experience, they merely said they were "sorry, and never offered any compensation for their incompetence. NEVER use this company if you want a quality job! It is obvious they don't have a clue as to how to remodel a bathroom while they charge quite a bit for what they are incapable of doing.

My apologies for the poor experience. The Handyman Connection office was only contacted after the homeowner chose to hire another contractor. Had the office not our contractor been contacted we would have sent someone to review the work and offer a solution. We did not offer compensation as we were not offered the option to complete the repairs and our contract states we do not compensate for other companies completing our warranty work.
