Poor communication, lack of follow-up, when they communicate back its through text messages with unprofessional responses, unable to schedule for driving lessons, no accountability on flaws by the company. A total waste of money! Do not use this school.

DO NOT USE THIS DRIVING SCHOOL!!!! My son had (2) hour lessons. The first lesson went fine. The second instructor showed up 20 minutes late & dropped him off 20 minutes early! Not only that but she was on her phone on Facebook the entire time & didn’t say a word to my son! Oh & she also told him to park in a parking lot for 10 minutes to take a “break”. The third instructor FELL ASLEEP!!! He woke up & apologized to my son & said he had a long night with his daughter! The fourth & final instructor told him to pull into his bank because he had to make some transactions! He was also cursing in the car & had road rage! I reached out to the owner Ari via phone & text. After several texts he finally called me back. He said it was my fault for not letting him know how his instructors were doing! He was unprofessional & kept talking over me & hung up on me! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!

      Hello All,
With regards to the review posted here, Overbeke School of Driving has been in business over thirty years and we have exemplary reviews regarding our instructors and our driving school. While we understand we cannot please everyone, but we do our best to provide the best service possible to all of our students. While it would be great to be in the vehicle with the students for every lesson and in the vehicle to observe every lesson, each driving instructor works with each student and the driving school can only know what is going on, if there is a problem that is told to us. While I would never say that it is the responsibility of the parent to monitor the instructors, there is no possible way of knowing that a student or parent had a problem with a specific instructor, if the school is not informed. Mr. ******* contacted our school only after his son had gone on 4 lessons, and had already obtained his drivers license from the BMV. He is stating that the second, third and fourth lessons were not up to his standards, but there is no way for us to rectify any issue that may have arisen, as we have only been told after the fact. Had we been told immediately after the first problem, we would have rectified that, immediately. How is anyone supposed to know that a problem exists, if we are uninformed that one does exist. Not every person will get along with everyone else, as everyone has different personalities, but having open communication at the time, would have fixed any miscommunication.
Mr. ******* was not in the vehicle at the time of the lessons. Our cameras in the vehicles, that are expressly stated in our contract as being there for the student and instructor safety would have been able to be checked for clarification of what he is saying took place, had we been told immediately after an issue come up, so that the footage could verify the complaint. Being told 1 month after a problem occurs, doesn't allow for any form of investigation to take place. What we do not understand is how Mr. ******* is stating that his son had 4, 2 hour lessons on ******, which his son signed off on, on his state paperwork confirming the lessons took place in its entirety. With regards to road rage, Mr. ********s son was the driver and the road rage was not from within the vehicle, it was maneuvering away from others on the road as the date that this lesson took place, was during the middle of the Major Snow Storm two weeks ago. Driving instructors do not have road rage as they are not the ones driving the vehicle. If a student needs a break due to their ability to remain focused, we will always put the safety of the student first, to ensure they have taken their needed time to re-focus and ensure they are safe on the road.
Just as a side point to this, we offered an apology for any misunderstanding or miscommunication, but being cursed at by a parent and requiring me to be in the car at all times to ensure everything is being done according to the parent's standards would make it impossible to have any instructors. This job is not like sitting in an office where I can be watching each employee and their interactions with others. If the student was looking at the instructor and the instructor hypothetically was online surfing the internet, who would have been driving the vehicle? There are clear inconsistencies in this accusation as it is second-hand from teen driver to parent, to one month after the supposed ocurrence and after the issuance of a license from a passing score on the driving test. The driving instructors had to have taught something, because in order to pass, maneuverability which is typically only taught in drivers education and not on the first lesson, would have been taught during these supposed "bad lessons," but again, without knowing that any of this took place, because we were not told, it's a lose-lose-win. The driving school, according to the parent was not good (lose #1), the instructors were not good (lose #2), the driving student got his license on the first try (win for the student), how can this be rectified? Aside from the apology which I attempted to do, when I spoke to him yesterday, before he started cursing and even giving me the opportunity to look into the situation? Lastly, the driving instructors all have GPS locators and the instructor showed up on time for the lesson and returned on time for the lesson- which again the parent stated all 4, 2 hour lessons were completed in his ****** review which was done prior to this review. I can only apologize so many times without having any communication if there was a problem.
