The date of the service for the main drain to be jetted and for markings to located where the pipe is located for repair was on Fri 10/20/23. I was verbally told the main drain could not be jetted due to the clay tiles being broken. The location of where the pipe was broken was not provided with the markings as requested when I initially called in for the service order. I was charged $475 for the service. I called several times to inquire about the findings from the camera and markings. I was told I would receive a call back once it was confirmed with the plumber *** about the service. The final call was on 10/26/23 I was informed by **** the receptionist the owner will be contacted and she will call back. I received a call back and was informed the company will not come back out for the marking and to contact the city of ***** to do the markings because they do it for free. I asked for pictures and nothing was sent.

9/14/23:  ABC went to property for estimate for outside sewer repair.  No charge for estimate.

9/19/23:  ABC went to property to give estimate for inside work on the property.  No charge for estimate.

10/13/23: *** scheduled.  ABC left after waiting 30 minutes for customer and rescheduled it for 10/19/23.  No charge.

10/19/23 ABC waited almost an hour for the customer.  Finally, customer sent a representative.  ABC made several attempts to jet/camera but unable to due to existing clay tile being broken.  ABC showed and explained to the representative the problem and that they clay tile was broken and we could not get our *** through.  ABC charged $475 for jet.

Customer called back numerous times stating we were supposed to leave markings.  Customer was told EACH time that it was not possible due to the clay tile being broken.  ABC would have no way of determining where the breakages exist.  Normally, on a jet/camera job, ABC will leave markings where bad points are located.

Customer was informed to contact the City of Akron to see if they can locate the sewer and breakage due to the fact we were unable to do so, and the City provides this as a service to its residents.

ABC is justified in charging for the jetting service.  ABC made every attempt to provide the service scheduled, but due to conditions that ABC could not control, (broken clay tile) was unable to do so.

I am rejecting this response because:

The information stated is not accurate and the customer made several attempts to resolve with the company. ABC did not fulfill their obligation therefore I had to hire another company to complete the requested service.

ABC Drain, in good faith, spent time and effort to *** the sewer but could not get through due to broken clay tile and charged accordingly.  When a sewer cannot be jetted, once the problem is determined, we provide an estimate to repair and correct the problem at which time the estimate price is discounted for the jetting fee minus our service call.   After not being able to jet, Ms. Sims insisted that ABC Drain provide markings where the sewer issues were located.  It is not possible for ABC to do this due to the existing conditions and she was made aware.  ABC is willing to refund $325 of the $475 paid, keeping $150 for service call fee.

I am rejecting this response because:

I already disputed with the card credit card company for the service, and I had to pay another company to provide the service. I made attempts to resolve the issue with the company prior to filing the dispute and I was never offered any resolution. I am disappointed because I have conducted business with this company prior and received satisfactory service.

My tub has been backing up and taking hours to drain so I called ABC Drain. Had them out a week ago and the guy couldnt get through my main drain with the snake. Tried for about 2 hours or more. I was told there was tissue or something blocking and they suggested to have the main drain high pressure jetted and gave me $100 off for it. Had them out on a Saturday just a week later and they jetted my main drain and snaked my tub as that was the thing backing up. Was told I was good to go and everything was draining. Went to clean out my tub and it started backing up again after about a minute of water running and takes hours to drain. I called them first thing Monday and am told theyre going to charge me again to come out and check my tub when it wasnt fixed the first 2 times! $600 I dont have just thrown away to still have the problem unsolved. Highly unsatisfied with this service.

      To whom it may concern:

The customer original call on April 5, 2023 was to try to retrieve 2 cables that were stuck in her main drain from another company and get her drain open.  ************* Came out to camera her line and they found cables, in her main drain.  Upon visit 04/05/23, Technician Auger ******* Ft. and pulled a lot of roots along with cables stuck in main drain, Technician did recommend her to have the main Water jetted to flush out all the debris and sludge and hoping to retrieve another company cables out.  On 04/15/23 that was scheduled for Camera & Jetting, Upon arrival Technician did Jet main and flushed all debris out of drain, Camera lined afterwards drain is clear , Abc Drain was un successful getting the cables out of her main drain. (Another company cables)  Her main drain is wide open at the time we left.  In regards to a tub drain, Customer ask the tech if he could snake it, as he did with no charge on 04/15/23.   The $575 that customer paid was for her main **********************.  There is a no warranty on bath tub drain as tech marked it on invoice that the customer signed.  The customer did call  following Monday and stated her bath tub is still running slow, as the secretary is trained, explained to her that there COULD be a charge, since there was no guarantee,  but let us come out and see what's going on since it was only been 2 days. The customer did not want any part of that.
