BBB spoke to the business owner and the following was relayed: A refund in this case is not applicable.  She actually owes me money.  This is the only complaint that I've ever had in over a decade of being in business.  I don't know how to say this but, this customer was ..very hard to deal with.  I ended up having to call the police to get my tools back because she stole them.  The police told me that they deal with her on a regular basis.   She changed her mind 3 times a day on what she wanted.  I couldn't work like that.  So, I finally had to say to her, listen let me do the work that you hired me to do and that is in the contract and please give me some space to work.  Well, she didn't like that.  She told me to leave, so I did.   The money that she paid was used to purchase the granite, the cabinets, the sliding glass door, the window- (about 7 or 8 windows).  All of which she has and all of which is installed and completed.  The amount that she paid me is less than the amount of labor I put into the job but at this point, I just don't want to deal with her anymore.  She owes me money though technically.  Also, I would have finished the small portion of work that was left that we agreed upon in our contract had she allowed me to.  I would have had to have been paid for that but I was willing.   Thank you.

She is not owed a refund.  I am owed money actually but I'm not going to pursue it right now because I just want to be done with her right now. I bought and installed 8 brand new ****** double paned windows. I bought and installed the sliding glass door. I bought and installed all the **** ***** stock cabinets. I bought and installed all of the granite. She got the materials that she ordered and  paid for and everything was installed.  The installation is called labor.  She owes me for unpaid labor.   Her deposit covered the materials and a small portion of the labor.   I have pro accounts everywhere so I can easily prove the money that was spent on materials for this project.  And the small amount of materials that were bought but not installed because she told us not to come back were left at her house for her.  So she has all materials in her possession.   I also have 2 employees that worked with me on this job that will testify on my behalf.  And think about it- I had 2 employees working there for 2 full weeks.  I pay each employee about between $20-$25 an hour.  So that is over $3,000 in labor costs right there.  Then you add my hourly labor rate for 2 full weeks.  So the deposit that she paid covered the materials and only a small portion of the labor costs.   I also did her entire basement floor.  It was one of the dirtiest jobs I ever had to do.  The entire basement floor was covered in chewed bumblegum.  I had to scape all of that off.   I'm owed money by this customer.  She is not owed a refund.  If I have to, I'll take it to court to prove my side.  I have all the receipts, documents, police reports, and witness testimony.
