This company offers a fake job offering through a trial performance period where you conduct baseline tests and conversations with their AI chatbot and AI programs. They have you conduct up to 4-6 exercises with their AI programs under the guise that they will employ you and provide you work on other AI projects upon completion of this trial program. Once completed, they use your on their AI programs for free baseline testing and never offer you additional work or a job with any compensation. DataAnnotation is a scam using people for free testing so they can keep their operating costs at a minimum and never have to pay compensation to testers.

This is a scam company. In the application process they used me to train their AI for free then never contacted me back. Many many people are trying to apply for this company and they're using all these people during their application process as free labor to train their AI. This company is committing labor theft.

I completed over $200 worth of work for *******************, which is still being held in my account. I am unable to withdraw the funds because they only offer ****** as a payment method, and my ****** account has been permanently banned. I have contacted ******************* multiple times asking for an alternate payout method (such as *****, ****, mailed check, or direct deposit), but they have not responded.

The funds have not been released to ****** and are still being held by *******************. I am simply requesting access to the money I earned through another payout method.

This issue has been ongoing for several weeks. I am hoping the company will respond and work with me to resolve this fairly.

Widespread and diabolical internet scam. This is a scam intended to data mine personal information from would-be job candidates, including employment records and PayPal account details, upon the premise of being granted access to a job portal, upon successful completion of an "evaluation" in the form of a lengthy and detailed written "skills assessment." The evaluation is in fact a mechanism by which this company uses data inputs to train their AI models in machine learning IN REAL TIME as the applicants are completing what they think is an assessment.

The process of completing the supposed "assessment" is precisely how Data Annotation trains their AI models -- the real business of this con operation. Candidates are asked to answer a series of questions in the form of ranked-choice and other word and math-based problems. Some prompts require original, lengthy writing responses over 1000 words. Outside internet research is allowed and encouraged in order to correctly answer the prompt. Candidates are encouraged to answer in detail. The assessment can take up to two hours to complete.

Once I submitted my "assessment," not a single email was ever received from Data Annotation-- no confirmation of receipt, status of application - nothing. Not even an auto response.

Because the application had asked for my PayPal account information, I contacted PayPal to see if they ever received a request from Data Annotation. According to DA, the posted rate of $20/hr per project was to be compensated via PayPal. Candidates would be granted access to this job "portal" after successful completion of the skills "assessment" as detailed above.

Such a communication was never received, BECAUSE IT WAS NEVER DATA ANNOTATION"S INTENT TO SET UP SUCH AN AGREEMENT in the first place.

The Data Annotation application platform all but disappeared after the app was submitted, almost as if it were all just a ruse to collect free labor and snatch my financial information in the first place.

I amend my resolution request to the business to disinclude financial compensation for the over two hours time spent in the application process for this suspected scam. Although I strongly feel that DataAnnotation.tech should be sanctioned, I will abide by the rules of the Better Business Bureau complaint process. I do not seek financial restitution at this time. DataAnnotation.tech should be ordered to answer to their processes.
