my roommate and I are trying to break our lease because this apartment is above market (our fault for signing), our packages get stolen, we are above a restaurant that blares music all week well into the night, the washer and drier is in the trash room with roaches and rarely works, management doesn't answer our Visitt+ requests. We initiated the lease break and its taken almost a month to get 3 emails back, and we are unable to rent the apartment because the landlord and leasing office won't tell us and the agent how much to rent it for. Further, I've tried calling repeatedly, I've tried emailing them, no response. In ** there is a law that landlords must make a reasonable attempt to fill a lease if a tenant wants to break the lease and they can't even get us an email back. We can't sign our new lease because of them, we can't list our current apartment cause of them, they don't answer our maintenance requests and don't communicate in a reasonable time. We are unsure of how to proceed with our current situation and are doing everything we can.

Freestone contracted a floor sealing service to prep a new apartment this past Saturday (2/3/24) for another apartment in the building at ****************************************************The sealant fumes diffused into the stairwell shortly thereafter and have since filled the stairwell and our apartment. I have had a headache all night and into today from the fumes. I did not sleep well, and I woke up from what I think was sleep and vomited. In December 2023, Freestone hired a crew from Regal Construction and the crew left all of the furniture in front of of sliding door and I had to climb over it to get out the door, they damaged a $350 gas fire table that I have on our porch, they set another tenant's furniture on my deck box, broke my rope lights, left a mess behind, and tore furniture covers after climbing down from the roof deck to inspect the porch; the roof workers were supposed to be on the roof fixing leaks not on our porch. It was not made clear they needed access to our porch. Next, some pseudo-super, named *****, came in to patch holes from leak inspection and did a poor job with drywall and did not sand the compound. After the drywall work, ***** painted the wall and ceiling areas the wrong color and a new super, named ******, had to repaint. The sealant smell is still unbearable and nobody from Freestone, not even the office manager or anyone 'community team', responded to my email from the morning. They also just said "thank you for bringing this to our attention" to my wife's report on the maintenance ticket system - then did nothing from 4:30pm (2/3/24) onward. They are literally allowing contractors poison us - and doing nothing in response to a chemical smell. I threw up from the fumes. Not to mention, the contractors had to ring everyone's intercom buzzer over and over to get in because FREESTONE did not provide them with the proper entry method.Freestone needs to do better. (And we suffered property damage at the hands of the contractors they hire.)

I was charged a $50 late fee despite paying my rent on time. I repeatedly contacted Freestone (via email, telephone, maintenance requests, contact forums on their website) and they never responded. I sent proof of payment multiple times both through their payment history on their portal, as well as my payment receipts. I was then given a Rent Demand/Arrrears statement saying I owed this money despite the repeated contact without follow up. I finally spoke to some on the phone on 11/10 who said they would handle the issue and the fee is still there. When I try to call the same number, I am put on a call line and never answered. The fee is still there and I'm sick of being ignored. They handle all issues the same at Freestone--they are negligent. I refuse to pay money that I do not owe.
