I wish I could put -0. RUN, HIDE, REFUSE coverage. They will not help you. I have never seen such poor health coverage in my life. I sent the below to appeal a decision about the denial of coverage for medication, and what did I get? NOTHING!!!!!!!!To whom it may concern,Please see all the case numbers attached with this letter. The decision you are making to deny my medication is ridiculous.I have been crapping my pants, bed, and vehicle with explosive uncontrollable diarrhea since 04/22/2024 when the ********************* ******* ordered the ********** *******************. I have been on ********** 9 MG for over a year. That is the maximin does you can take and it is not helping. I had an anniversary this year on 04/22/2025 celebrating being isolated to my home, not being able to eat normal food, lost weight, urgent care 07/2025 2 times, ER 07/2025 2 times for *************** is it possible that I pay for my insurance and I cannot get the medication I need to live a full life. It is ridiculous for me to have to wear diapers day and night. I cannot go out and socialize. I am completely isolated because I need a bathroom within running distance. Please for God sake let me have the medication so I can see if it works and I can have my life back. How would you like to have ***** explosive diarrhea episodes everyday 24 hours a day 7 days a week for over a year and still begging for help to get medication that might help me.Maybe I should send a dirty diaper so you can see what I live like.

Anthem does not work well with Pharmacies or ambulance providers. Cannot find an ambulance in my area that is considered in network. Have to pay full price for ambulance ride.

Anthem did not pay for my inguinal hernia operation anesthesia. Apparently they think I should be awake with no pain maintenance for this surgery. Additionally, the surgeon repaired the double inguinal hernia, but did not remove an inflamed gull bladder that was thought to be a hernia going into the surgery. My MVP health insurance plan only covers one outpatient surgery per year. So, in addition to the $9,100.00 out-of -pocket for the inguinal hernia, I would have to pay for the entire gull bladder removal surgery, because it was not removed during the hernia surgery. Unfortunately I can not afford the gull bladder surgery and am living with a diminished quality of life. God Bless America! How bout we send less billion dollar rockets to **** and take better care of people here on Earth! I previously had health insurance that had a $1000.00 deductible with no limits or caps. *********** should not be a for profit business.

Anthem fails to provide adequate information on my coverage and in-network providers. I contacted them via chat messages with a simple question: I needed to know if certain lab tests were covered and when can I go and do the testing. I ended up chatting with them for 2 (TWO) hours and they still failed to answer my question. At first they were sending me conflicting messages regarding the coverage (copay, 3 times a year limit, no copay, no limit, etc.). Then they sent me a list of fake providers. I called several numbers on the list and doctors on the list were not working at the facilities listed. I asked Anthem for an updated list. They refused to provide it. I made an appointment with a doctor I saw a few months ago and who was covered by my insurance then. The doctor's office confirmed that they accepted my insurance. When I asked Anthem to double-cheek, Anthem said that the doctor wasn't covered and then said that I should ask the doctor if they are covered. I told Anthem yet again that the doctor had already confirmed that they are covered and asked Anthem to explain the conflicting information. Anthem failed to explain and just disconnected me from the chat. It's clear that they are withholding information from me forcing me to pay out of pocket.

Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield California discontinued out-of-state coverage as a benefit, impacting rural Northern California residents who rely on nearby Nevada healthcare providers. Recently my routine preventative colonoscopy and pre-authorized surgery were unexpectedly denied coverage due to being performed out-of-state. It was only after the denial that they shared they require an "access to care" form to be completed prior to seeing any out of state doctor. Even with **** preauthorizing out of state procedures they neglected to communicate this information beforehand.I submitted all denied claims into grievance who denied coverage for a final decision. When questioned, the representative with the grievance department rudely stated that coverage is limited to ********** as it is the **** CA plan and that unless they deemed a service to be an emergency, it won't be covered. The access to care form doesn't guarantee coverage either. This has caused significant financial stress. Unfortunately, I researched policies that will cover my zip code and **** Anthem is the only company available. This current policy costs over $500/mo. Upgrading will not solve the issue as all options limit coverage to ** only. This situation highlights how **** monopolizes areas, lacks clear communication, is costly for the average working-class person and requires people to still pay out of pocket for necessary healthcare services. I'm stuck paying for a plan that I can't even use.

No customer service. It keeps diverting me to AI which is also not working. No info on web for basic bloodworm services. Lists covered facilities hours away. I am a healthcare provider who cannot navigate their own insurance. No one is ble to give cost estimates either. Healthcare is so terrible.

Anthem BCBS made an error and covered a prescription for me after my benefits were expired. They are requesting reimbursement from me rather than the pharmacy that they paid the cost to. By making this error they took away my right to decline the high cost prescription. I do not feel I should be responsible for their error!!! They did not contact me at all before turning the situation over to a collection agency. Very poor customer service!!!

After reading other reviews I have to agree that Anthem is not up to par with other medical insurance companies. I hate being lied to and believe this fool me once shame on you.

Well, where do I start? I had a small procedure done on my eyes in November of 2021 and anthem was to pay claim, but then anthem turns it around on me and says that I had a secondary insurance when I didnt and I have tried everything in my power to get them to pay out the claim but they keep s******* everything up because Ive sent appeal letters and documents that prove that I am telling the truth and all of this but anthem sends me the approved appeal but different dates and different doctor that I dont even know. I am super stressed out from all of this and its just been a huge headache for the last three years and frankly I am just dont with anthem blue cross.

Pretty much useless. They say your doctors take them but then they don't. It takes several months to get set up and you will have to pay for everything out of pocket until then, and there is no reimbursement. And you can forget about prior authorizations.
