I needed a simple mold assessment on my home that sustained water damage. I did research and found that the NYS Department of Labor has a "Mold Program". I sought to find a contractor via the portal ************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************** I agreed to pay $860 and paid $500 upfront.

They have been holding on to the report since yesterday, 10/19/23.

They are now suddenly issuing a new invoice with an unagreed to price. A much higher price. They sought to collect lots of extra details about the insurance claim only to use it to upcharge. This is predatory behavior. Must also be reported to the Department of Labor.

      Our organization
takes pride in working with our clients to address environmental health issues
at home and work.  Ms. ******, the client, contacted us about conducting a
mold assessment at her dwelling and advised us that she had recently had an unfavorable
experience with a contractor who’d been hired to remediate her mold
contamination.  She advised us that her insurance company paid for the
remediation, but that she would have to pay for any additional
assessment.   The client was advised of our fees, including optional
sampling fees in conversation when she reached out to request the proposal, in
our proposal (attached) and at the time of the assessment by the
assessor.  Ms. ******’s complaint that we “sought to collect lots of extra details about the insurance claim only to
use it to upcharge” is certainly not true, and not consistent with her original
statement.   We're prepared to provide email
correspondence with Ms. ****** to substantiate our claim or whatever you may
request to eliminate this complaint. Andrew
      M*******, President UNYSE, LLC

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  In order to resolve:,
I would like a prompt refund of my overpayment. The difference between invoice 1 and invoice 2.
      Regards,

The proposal provided by ***** details our policy for additional sampling and we reiterated that policy in the body of the emailed proposal to Ms.
******.  Furthermore, we obtained Ms. ******’s partner’s approval before
collecting samples.  This is a standard industry practice that we
have followed for over ten years.
