On August 19, 2024, I hired James Quick of A-Z All Around Handyman to replace my roof, install new gutters, repair and paint siding, and build out a 12 soffit. The contract total $15,000 with an $8,000 deposit. He stated via text that any missed roof, soffit, or gutter-related materials would be provided at no charge. The work was not performed in a professional or timely manner. The roof was installed by subcontractors, hired by *** Quick who was not on-site to supervise, on October 89, 2024. The removed and replaced more plywood than necessary, caused damage to most of the trim on the house, removed and damaged 75% of wood siding. I paid an additional $500 for plywood and another $5,000 for the roof completion. On October 23, 2024, I was charged an unexpected overage of $2,600 for more materials. There have been months of delays, missed appointments, poor communication, and substandard workmanship:The gutter system was not completed, in mid-December the one gutter that was installed was left partially falling off, metal trim was dented and warped, and installation is defective.Milled boards for siding were delivered and have been left exposed on the ground since November, some are likely to *********** trim was improperly bent and partially installed, leaving it creased, wavy and gaps between fascia and soffit material. One piece was left hanging of house. The house was left open to wildlife, flying squirrels entered the Living room ceiling. I paid $800 for a ridge guard, recommended and never installed by ** ********************* before looking for actual rodent entry point. This was deemed unnecessary after calling in a professional pest control.A power line is hanging unsecured on the home, tied with a rope.He refused to communicate in writing, has not provided receipts, and ignored attempts to discuss the project.March 2025, I hired a new contractor to remove and redo the faulty work resulting in additional expenses totaling $9,350.
