On March 13, 2025 Splash was paid to install ppf and window tint on my 2023 Toyota GR Corolla. Upon receipt of the car back the ppf was not installed correctly (miscut, and lifting) and there had been damage done to the car's (blade marks from cutting the ppf too short) carbon fiber.

    Business Response

    Date: 03/20/2025

First, please understand that we strive hard everyday to not only meet our customers expectations but to exceed them. The fact of the matter regarding this individual is that after leaving us a negative review online we did our own due diligence and looked at his other 49 posted reviews for other local businesses here in Las Cruces and revealed that this is habitual. The majority were bad reviews with intentions of claiming refunds after receiving services/products. Furthermore, we offered a partial refund as well as to redo the services provided at no additional cost in which he refused and proceeded to make threats in hopes to secure a refund. Please note: The paint protection product remains on his vehicle and labor was rendered.

Back story: The customer came in for a scheduled service and asked for further services in which we did not have the product in stock. Therefore, we offered to source materials from El Paso the same day in hopes to show our willingness to satisfy him. That being said this delayed the completion of the job until after business hours. We provided an update later that day explaining that the vehicle would be completed the following day. However, he insisted on picking up the vehicle the same day. Again, in hopes to satisfy him we stayed late to finish the job. In addition, we explained that we ask for a two week check up which allows for us to do any touch ups or redos necessary and informed him that he would also receive a complimentary interior and exterior detail during that visit. At that point the customer became irate, bashful, and refused further service and began demanding a refund. We then responded offering him a partial refund in addition to redoing the job in which he refused. At this point there is nothing further we can do to satisfy him. Therefore, we choose to exercise our right to refuse any future business with him. He is no longer welcome here at Splash and we will cease from any further communication immediately following this response both directly and indirectly via third parties such as this one. It is our honest belief that said customer had no intention of being satisfied from the beginning and as aforementioned has made these types of complaints a habitual practice.

    Best Regards

I am rejecting this response because:

This response is not addressing damage done by Splash. Tint has dirt under it and from installation there are cut marks on the window. PPF had to be fixed by another shop. And when PPF was installed there was cut marks on carbon fiber roof. Upon refusal of allowing Splash to further damage vehicle Shawk became defensive and rude as evidenced in his google review response and text messages. Splash by Shawk also had a police report filed against them from this service as they have stated they don’t want contact but have kept a cargo cover from car. I am asking for a refund before I pursue a lawsuit for damages, stolen items and poorly installed (ppf and tint) services. I would also like to state that there is a case opened with the attorney general against Splash by Shawk for this incident.

    Regards,
