    Be aware and get Certificate of insurance before hiring L&B construction t/a ***** A. ******** based in ********, **, registered as L&B construction 2000 corp.We hired L&B Construction, owned by ***** ****** family, to replace a cracked tub, tiled walls and floor as well as painting the house. They were referred to us by Coastal Supply, a construction store based in *************, **. The owner of the L&B Construction assured us that they are fully insured and bonded but we never asked for a copy of COI, certificate of insurance. At the date of completion, we discovered a freshly installed tub appeared damaged in the middle and the crack was masked over with paint. We contacted ***** ******, the owner, and requested their business insurance information but he refused to provide one. He offered to fix the problem but this time we refused. Allowing them to continue working without business insurance in place might put us in an even more risky situation. In fact, the whole renovation project needs to be started all over again but not with the same company. While working on the project, the company clearly demonstrated dishonesty and a lack of professionalism that makes it impossible to proceed with it. Be aware.
