    On Aug 12, 2025, my vehicle was towed by King Towing from ***** ***** Parking. I was forced to pay $181.99 in order to retrieve my car.

    This tow was improper for the following reasons:

    No clear signage was present at or near the location warning that vehicles could be towed or indicating the towing company’s information, as required under Jersey City & New Jersey ordinance or law

    My vehicle was legally parked within the allowed time, while I walked off to the building right next to the ***** to meet a friend, within the 20 yards distance from my car & property. I then left to go into the ***** to shop. Now from the towing receipt, within 3 minutes after I left, the towing company was called by the ***** ***** manager and my car was towed within 15 minutes after I left.

    I requested clarification from the towing company, but they refused to provide any evidence that the tow was lawful or that proper notice was given. Instead, I was told I would not get my vehicle back unless I paid the fee in full immediately.

    This conduct meets the definition of predatory towing under local consumer protection guidelines. I am seeking:

    A full refund of $181.99 paid under duress.

    Assurance that the company complies with all local and state towing laws moving forward.

    Evidence Available:

    Receipt from the towing company.

    Photos of the parking location and lack of proper signage.

    Please assist in resolving this issue.

    November 11 2024 i had gotten my car towed from ******* to ***********. My car had previously been in an accident in September but my car was still put together and working. November 11th kings towing had a driver retrieve my car from nj transit parking lot on *********** to mechanic shop in *********** leaving my bumper on the side of the rode with one side still attached i have reached out to triple a and they have said that kings towing does not want to take responsibility for the damages caused by their driver.

    This disgusting, terrible and illegal company is running a robbery business! They towed your car without reason - I parked my car in metro plaza parking lot and went into Shoprite to buy something. However it towed away the car illegally within 10mins from I parked the car! Horrible and ridiculous!! We are the customers and they towed the car! When we argued with the company, they said they were instigated by the guys from metro plaza - without ensuring the identity of the "guy" and the situation whether or not my car is supposed to be towed. The people there were really bad and rude, charged you a huge amount of money, including punishments, storage, taxes and etc. even if our car was not stored there at all! I would say this is completely illegal and disgusting.

    King Towing damaged the left side of my car in hit and run.
