We had them come out for some mold we had in our basement. They looked at it didn’t test it or offer any remediation. Just gave us some tips of how to do it ourselves and slapped us with a $125 bill just to come out and tell us. They were only in the house about 5-10 min and didn’t write any notes or leave us any notes. Not impressed at all especially as we have a baby on the way and wanted this fixed as we don’t have time to do it ourselves. Unprofessional and kinda scammy. When we reached out to clarify the bill guy couldn’t remember our home and asked us to call him. Not okay at all. So not use these people. Very unhappy with how this went!

      *****,
My apologies for your disappointment with my service, not ever what I want to hear. The inspection fee is disclosed and agreed upon before I schedule with you, otherwise we don't make an appointment. Sorry if there was any confusion there.
With my inspections, I often make recommendations and educate homeowners how to handle things on their own, when the issue is not significant enough to warrant professional remediation. Not all mold issues need to be professionally remediated; yours was one of them. My clients enjoy the fact of a common-sense approach rather than making a mountain out of a mole hill and love saving the money and doing it themselves. I believe that is the ethical way to operate, and not prey on the fear of mold that it sometimes presents. However, we can ALWAYS help with the little things too. I believe I must have miscommunicated that to you; I just left on the idea that you and **** would handle it on your own. I will take fault here for not clearly understanding your needs to have us totally take care of it.
When you emailed me about the bill, I responded back to call me at your convenience to sort out the issue at your home rather than go back and forth on emails to make it faster. I said I would be in and out of inspections that day you emailed me, but said in that email that I "definitely want to make sure that you’re comfortable with everything that I recommended and how to move forward." I do lots of inspections and the week of yours, I inspected several homes with the exact same issue that your home had. When I stated that I needed to remember your exact issue, some of those inspections included more than just vent issues. I wanted to ensure I had the right house.
Again, I am sorry you were not happy. This is one of the things that we strive for and I would like to make it right. I see you or hour husband submitted an online payment. I am going to return your payment to you via a paper check. You contacted me on the 8th, and I responded on the 9th. I didn't hear anything from you until it looks like we received an electronic payment for the inspection on the 11th. Please expect a check in the next two to three business days.
Again, I am so sorry for this experience and I hope you can trust that we don't take any review lightly and appreciate your feedback on how we can be better for all of our clients.
      Respectfully,
      **** ***** - Owner

A 1 came to our house and told us that he has worked with lots of CIRS patients. So I thought he would know that living in a house with active water damage or old water damage would be detrimental to our health. We already had an ERMI test and an HERTSMI report done. He told us that the testing didn't mean anything and that our house was fine and that I am the sick one, not my house. Then he charged us $260.00 for a call and really wasn't willing to do any remediation. Please don't tell people that you understand CIRS if you really, don't.

      Ms. ******,

I am sorry that you are not satisfied with the service provided. However, contrary to your review, I do understand CIRS very well and have had several clients that have suffered from it. You could probably call 5 more remediation companies and they wouldn't even know what it even stands for. In your particular case and in anyone's case, the ERMI test is not a diagnostic tool and does not clearly represent if you have a "mold problem" in your home. Below you will see a statement directly from the EPA's website. I also included a link that you can follow to better educate yourself on the ERMI test. Water damage in your home does not mean that you have a microbial issue. In some cases, it will lead to an issue but the area has to stay wet for a period of time to develop growth.

I could have sold you on a mold fogging (which doesn't work) or remediation services of some sort, but I do not believe that you have a mold issue within your home. I sympathize with health issues and wish that I had a definitive answer for you as to why you are sick, however, it was my professional opinion that NO remediation company could provide you any remediation service that would make your home safer or healthier.

      "Environmental Relative Moldiness Index (ERMI)
The Environmental Relative Moldiness Index (ERMI) is a research tool developed by EPA scientists for estimating mold contamination. Researchers can use the index to estimate the amount of mold and some of the types of mold present. ERMI has been peer reviewed for research purposes but has not been validated for non-research purposes."

Hope that this helps shed some light on my position of my recommendations.
