On January 7th the owner **** came out to quote me on a sliding glass patio door. He said he had 3 grades of ******* products for $1500, $1700 or $2500. I agreed to the mid grade and an invoice was billed which I was told to not pay until the job was done. On January 26th I received a text my door was in stock and could install the following day. **** showed and took apart my old door. I walked outside and noticed the only door in his trailer was a Lowes brand door *********. I confronted **** about it not being a ******* door. He looked at the invoice contract and agreed but since my old door was removed he said he would install this door and come back the next day with the correct door. The next day **** shows with a door in the trailer that had no packaging or labels on it. The door looked dirty and dinged up around the frame with some pieces bent. I confronted **** while he was installing the new door and he said he wasnt done yet and it would look good. He then left to get more caulk from Lowes. While he was gone I further inspected the door and the glass was stamped with 3 different dates with the years 2015, 2017 and 10/28/2021. The door also was crooked on the track and did not properly function. This door was supposed to be brand new from the ******* factory in *************. I sent **** a text about my concerns and ordered the proper door. **** showed back to my house and walked in without knocking. He said he did not want to finish the job and I can keep the door at no cost he would seal the outside and leave. I received a new invoice stating I owed no money for the cost of the door. On January 29th **** reached out by text and found me and my wifes facebooks threatening to put a lien on my home. He resent an invoice for $900 to cover the cost of the door.I have since stopped responding after telling **** when I get a new contractor out to replace he could have the old door back.

      Business Response

****** was undecided on his budget and asked that I write up a contract showing a ******* door so he could get on our schedule but needed more time to decide on a door. A week later he told me which door he wanted.Upon arrival he inspected and approved the door. After I removed his old door he told me that his wife was unable to withdraw the money to pay me at the end of the day. I told him that I am also able to take check or credit card. He did not have a response as to how I would be paid. At lunch he came out and said his contract showed a ******* door. I re-read his contract and realized that I had brought the incorrect door. I temporarily installed the incorrect door and returned the next morning with the correct door. When I arrived he thoroughly inspected and approved the correct door. During my break he inspected the work I had done so far and questioned a piece of partially installed trim. I told him that we were not finished. I ran out of caulking and told ****** that I needed to go to Lowes and that I would be right back. While gone, ****** texted accusing me of installing a used door. He said that he found old date stamps on the glass of the door and it was dirty. The dates he is concerned with pertain to the building codes that the tempered glass meets. He also claimed that the door was crooked on its track. It is standard for all doors to be adjusted before completion. The silicone he is unhappy with is how the door is constructed and would have been covered by a cap before completion. He purchased a vinyl door that is stored in a warehouse resulting in a dusty or dirty looking door that is cleaned before completion. Connor inspected and approved the correct door before installation and did not question the integrity of myself or of the door until after it was installed. That, coupled with his previous statement about his wife not being able to get money from the bank has led me to believe that he never had any intention of paying for this project.

I am rejecting this response because:

When I submitted the original complaint with better business I received this response by text message from **** within 15 minutes of it being submitted ****** I dont care you went to the bbb I already liened your house. Today. Your professional thief.

The statement of not being able to get money was false. My wife was unable to get cash out due to ******** in ********* not dealing with cash anymore. She came back with a check.

The photos of the door shared were not the same door I received. I have an appointment scheduled for a new door to be installed and ****** will be notified when he can pick up his removed door.
