Good Day,We are writing in response to the complaint received at the BBB on February 22, **** regarding the National Survey on Drug Use and Health (*****) 1. In the message the individual indicated that they do not want to participate in the survey and that they did not want to receive any more letters. Their case was coded out as a final refusal on 2/22/**** and no one else from ***** will be contacting the resident. The resident may receive a letter that was mailed before the case was coded out as a refusal. The National Survey on Drug Use and Health (*****) provides up-to-date information on alcohol, tobacco, drug use, mental health and other health-related issues in *****************. Information from ***** is used to support prevention and treatment programs, monitor substance use trends, estimate the need for treatment facilities and assist with the creation of government policy. Household addresses, not specific people, are randomly chosen through scientific sampling methods. Once a household has been chosen, it cannot be replaced for any reason. This ensures that ***** accurately represents the many different types of people in *****************. Participation is incredibly important, which is why we make every attempt to contact residents of selected households through mailings and sometimes visits from our professional Field Interviewers; however, we never want to make respondents feel upset. Respondents are always welcome to call the ***** helpdesk number that is provided on our letters ***************) to have their case coded as a refusal and stop all future contact from *****. On behalf of *****, wed like to apologize for any distress our letters may have caused. If there any further questions, please contact the ***** Hotline Monday through Friday between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM (Eastern Time) at **************. 1 The ***** project is sponsored by an agency of the U.S. Department of Health and ***** Services (OMB No. 0930-0110). Additional information about the ***** can be accessed on the Internet at ************************, *********************, and ******************. This company keeps sending the same women to our home at various times for the past month+ its been 5+ weeks of the same thing. We are NOT interested in participating in any survey. I dont care about getting $30 for some hour long survey. IM NOT GOING TO ANSWER THE DOOR LET ALONE ******* TO THIS WOMEN YOU KEEP SENDING. this woman comes on Sundays at 7-8pm ringing our door cam back to back and waiting in our lobby for 30+ mins as according to our neighbor. She has shown up on religious holidays pulling the same stunt. since July 12th to now its constant ringing our door cam. she shows up 3-4 times a week every week at various times. from 12pm, 2pm, 3pm, 7-8pm. what part of we aren't interested does this company not get that they keep sending the same women over back to back? then they have the audacity to send us letters. REMOVE OUR ADDRESS AND INFORMATION FROM YOUR DATABASE AND DO NOT SEND ANYONE OVER EVER AGAIN. DO NOT SELL OUR INFORMATION OFF TO ANY DATA COLLECTION AGENCY, WE WANT IT REMOVED. We already have door logs and screen shots of each day she has shown up not to mention a video log of her entering our building without our permission which is trespassing. if this continues we will be pursuing legal action and submitting a report to local law enforcement for the constant harassment of this women being beyond pushy and ringing our doorbell back to back for 30 mins straight. I EXPECT TO HAVE A RTI CUSTOMER SERVICE REP ******* TO THIS. AND IF THIS DOESNT STOP I PROMISE IT WILL EFFECT YOUR FUTURE FUNDING. SO CONTANT ME ASAP.RTI International

Second letter received even though survey was refused. Called their number and asked to be removed, got voicemail. Perhaps a class action suit would be in order as the internet is full of complaints about this harassment.RTI International

We live in ** and just had a Hispanic lady come to our door for the survey for Dept of Health and Himan Services. She rang the doorbell TWICE within a minute amd was pushy. We received the paper survey 3 times and didn't want to fill it out so you would think they would leave us alone. But nope! We read the information needed was about drug, alcohol and tobacco use then online I read it was about people using hand held computers. Well this lady asked about how many entrances were in our house. We will NOT disclose that information and don't understand what that has to do with health at all!! That is an inappropriate question. They say the information isn't linked to anything but who knows? They'll most likely end up like other companies and sell information so then there would be random people knowing how many entrances are in my house. She was lucky it was my husband that answered the door and not me because he is nicer. She irritated me right off the bat by ringing the doorbell twice in such a short amount of time. My husband barely got off the couch before she rang it again.RTI International

We have attempted to contact this individual to identify their case and assign it a final refusal status. Information from NSDUH is used to support prevention and treatment programs, monitor substance use trends, estimate the need for treatment facilities and assist with the creation of government policy. We live in NW ********** ** and there is a woman who has repeatedly been directed to stop coming to our house and she has ignored our requests. She drives a red car and shows up at odd times and sometimes tries to hide her vehicle. The name of the woman is ******* ***** badge # ****** and claims to work for RTI. After being turned away again today via the **** remote doorbell system, she proceeded to engage in discussions with our neighbor by asking her questions about our household and the residents presence which was also captured on our **** system. She was told today and it has now been recorded by the **** system that our household is not interested in participating in any survey or discussions and she may not return to our house. This is a problem. If Ms. ***** or anyone else from RTI returns again, it will now be considered trespassing and she will face the full legally permissible ramifications.RTI International
