I withdrew from the university during the first week of classes in August of 2021. According to my records and the university's withdrawal policy, I adhered to all necessary procedures and deadlines for withdrawal. In fact, I withdrew on 8/23/21, according to account ************************* provided by ***, and confirmed via phone with *** employee ******************************* on 2/23/23. She verified that I appropriately withdrew during the student/drop add period. This was completed via the online portal by self-service without further employee intervention or correspondence. The account ************************ does not provide any rationale for the charges remaining. I disputed this with ****** in February 2023, noting that the following facts are readily apparent:1) I withdrew on the first day of my class at *** 2) *** was paid for services rendered 3) I received a refund check for the excess overage paid to ***. I inquired with ****** about why I would receive a refund for overages if *** still had an outstanding balance. She stated, and I quote, I dont know why aid was lost. Its a loan and you get a refund. Not all loans are 100%. It just happens. Students have aid, and then owe. In other words, *** paid itself with my student loan money, gave me the remainder, and then tried to charge me on an individual basis for other unexplainable costs. It is clear that *** received payment for services rendered the one session of class I attended before withdrawal. *** was compensated, sent me the overage, and is now demanding additional compensation after the fact. This is a flagrant example of double-dipping getting paid by federal student loans AND demanding payment from the student in cash. The school has been more than handsomely rewarded for the absolute minimum of services rendered. They are now requesting money from two sources at once, not unlike a doctor billing insurance and demanding payment from their patient at the same time.

I have attached the emails from *** explaining the spurious charges, which seem to indicate that *** accidentally refunded me too much money in 2021 and have been attaching interest/fees to that overage ever since. I have provided proof of my prompt withdrawal in August 2021, and my formal dispute letter.
