1 starJust got wrongly accused of changing the lock on my apt door. Yet I have proof on my security camera they let themselves in, and out. They unlocked and relocked the door themselves. Inspection today. Which fine. But I'm not about to sit here and accept being accused of something I didn't do. It's not the first time they've come at me. I'm tired of being a scapegoat every time the property manager doesn't feel good or gets into a mood.Review fromTH T

1 starThe apartment manager in ******** had tried to ruin my life and my sons life...It was a shooting that didn't involve me or my kids. She gave us a 3 day to move...She waited til rent was late then put the note on my door..She has tried to ruin my son.She retaliated against me only because I called corporate on her for her never having the office open.Went to court the lawyers said she didn't have a case she's blocked me from paying rent and she tried to make me lose my voucher. She hasn't fixed anything that was suppose to be fixed. She is constantly harassing me and my kids. She put on a nice act but she has racially profiled me and my kids. She used all my personal information for her personal gain to use it against me. She added court cost to my rent when she didn't do anything to the actual people who were involved in the altercation. Her communication is bad and she uses the maintenance man as a shield and he's to old for that. She send him to do her dirty work. This has been the worst decision I made moving here with a person who is allowed to do what she wants and feelReview fromKayleen F

1 starThis by far has been the worst living experience of my life. Ive been living at ***** At *******, since September, 2023. I have not had any cooling air in my apartment since Ive been there and I told them that on day one before my items were even moved in my apartment. Due to the fall, it started to get cold and the heat was working, so the ** was never an issue again until now that its been hot all summer. Also, it was brought to my attention six months ago that the apartments have been audited, and my name was pulled and now, because the people in the RENT OFFICE did not do their job when they moved me in I currently have to move out of my apartment. Its just not right its not fair and its just super poorly managed. The way that the managers treat you is such a shame and I pray that anybody who is thinking about moving to these apartments, you guys really really read the reviews before you end up in the situation that Im in poor management stressed mentally drained, and do not know what to do. The manager ( ************************* ) is discriminating against me and she is very very rude. She has not been helpful whatsoever. We went to court after She filed an eviction on me for **** even tho they put a notice on my door to be moved out by July 7 and my lease is up AUGUST 31st! The judge honored that I can pay and stay. She is not allowing me to pay my rent and now shes threatening me saying that shes going file a writ on me so that I can be off the property in 7 days this company is super unprofessional and every day that Im still here Im worried & stressed. They came in my apartment yesterday 8/7/24 w/o my consent when I put this maintenance request in back in April 2024!!!! I went a whole summer without air condition & this has really affected my life. We have had several different property managers since Ive been here within the last year I know for a fact its been 5. And its just very poor communication and very poor management!Review fromAngela J

5 starsAs a Indigenous individual I know what being treated as a third class citizen feels like. I am having issues with my apartment manager, I wanted to get these resolved so I call Corporate in ***********, *** for their help. I was totally surprised by the treatment I received by a Wilhoit Properties Officer. She started talking baby talk before she hung up. No help there in fact I feel worse, just waiting for my eviction notice now.Review fromCrystal H

1 starIf I could give negative stars, I would. We paid a deposit and application in November of 2023. Management at the time was a joke. Once they fired her and new management took over, things did not get better. They refuse to return our deposit because we have cancelled the application after 7 months and they only will refund the money if the application is rejected. Basically, they can keep our deposit for an undetermined amount of time and not ever make a decision. Meanwhile, we have had to apply and pay a deposit for another place. This is not how you handle your business, especially in a small town.Review fromDemecia R

1 starI regret my attempt to move to one of the properties owned by this company as the individuals that work for this company lack compassion and are trained to railroad their prospective tenants into paying a deposit for units that ARE NOT ready. Prior to my in person visit to a unit in *****, Tx, my mother and I called to gather very detailed information in regards to the application process and availability of possibly moving in for June 1st. I am currently homeless with children and using a voucher. There are timeframes and guidelines necessary to be met before housing is willing to pay. When I went in person to apply for the unit, the original unit I was interested in was already leased and another unit was pending an approval. The leasing agent suddenly remembered the manager telling her there was another unit available and ready. Her exact words were, My manager did say there was a unit ready for inspection. It is currently being used as a storage for appliances, however once we get maintenance to move everything the unit should be ready for inspection. I reiterated the importance of having the unit inspected prior to June for my move in to take place, hopefully for June 1st. I explained that I did not want to leave my packet unless this specific unit would for sure be ready. The agent checked the database and confirmed the unit was ready. After the application was processed, I was called to complete corrections (changing information that was already correct because compliance wanted the information changed) and two days later, I was called again to pick up the packet. When I reviewed my packet, I noticed the inspection ready date was listed for 6/17/2024. Insane! Not only would I now be homeless with children another 45 days out, I would also be subject to possibly losing my paid deposit for a unit that wasnt ready and losing my voucher if the unit does not pass inspection. Absolutely no compassion or respect for our time or well beingReview fromF.S P

Management that they hired here is a trouble starter. She tells her bf and whoever else will listen about all the residents personal business. You cant leave a message with corporate to tell them because her voicemail is connected to their voicemail so theres nobody to complain to.. nobodys doing anything about it she got fired from her last place she didnt tell them that now shes here causing the same trouble that she started at the last place and nobody seems to care because theres no way to contact anybody because the voicemails are connected and so are the messaging services so even if you try to complain, theres no way to complain because all she has to do is delete it before anybody sees itWilhoit Properties, Inc

We are disappointed to hear about your negative experience with a Wilhoit Properties managed community. Our corporate office voicemail is not connected to the property. We have a very dedicated and responsive customer service team that is available. That direct number is ************ or you can email to ******************************************. We encourage you to contact the corporate office to discuss the details surrounding your statement. We read every review, take each comment to heart and use the critiques to provide better service and housing for our residents. We appreciate your time leaving a review. - Wilhoit PropertiesReview fromBriaun K

If I could give an 0/10 I would. I have lived at Brookfield since Feb. 2023. This is the Absolute worst rental experience Ive ever had and have been harassed constantly. THEY ARE VERY RACIST. After making a police report for my children being called little black ******* by the adult tenants and getting yelled at in my face acting as if the tenant was going to hit me I started receiving retaliation notices on my door EVERYDAY to the point I have so many a 14/30 was put on my door. The manager also lied and stated she was called a vulgar names by one of my guests which never happened. On top of that I have complained about water leaking in the kitchen multiple times and mold in my second bathroom and my requests are being closed without a resolution . On top of anytime I have guests only my guests are receiving tow stickers on their cars no matter where they park rather its in front of the office or in a parking stall no matter where you park your guests will receive tow stickers. I personally contacted Wilhoit properties and it has been over 14days and have not received a response. I would not recommend anyone to rent here or from this company.Wilhoit Properties, Inc

Thank you for reaching out. Wilhoit Properties takes all threats of violence and harassment seriously. Please be sure to speak with the office manager directly so the proper steps can be taken to address those complaints. All maintenance issues have been addressed and work orders closed out, no issues were found. Per Wilhoit policy any resident and/or their guest not following the community policies may result in lease violations. Parking in areas that block other cars, block the maintenance shop or in resident parking would be violations of the community policy and would result in a tow sticker. There is an area designated for guest parking. If all guests are parking in the designated areas, there will be no tow stickers issued. Thank you again for reaching out with your concerns.
