I purchased an extended service protection plan from Asset Driven LLC on August 20, 2025 (contract BEEAD11211, account #***************, for $5,101 - split into 18 months. The charge was processed under ******************** After payment, I realized this company is not affiliated with my dealership or manufacturer and has numerous BBB complaints. Attempts to reach customer service and cancel have been unsuccessful. The company does not respond, and I fear this is a fraudulent warranty scheme.Business Response

My elderly mother recently bought a new 2025 Kia **** from the dealer. A few months later, ASSET DRIVEN LLC contacted her and offered her an extended service warranty. Of course new cars are covered under manufacturer's warranty so this is totally pointless. She's 88 and not able to make sound financial decisions, so she agreed to a service contract, because she thought she "had to." Now this company is executing monthly ACH debits from her checking account and has done so over the last 3 months. I reached out to the warrantors. After a lot of time spent on hold, they insisted that we needed to complete a written cancellation form to finalize the cancellation. The form requires not only a bunch of detailed information but also a NOTARIZED (!) ODOMETER READING. This despite the fact that my mother never gave them a written form. Due to the principle of contractual symmetry, it should be as easy to exit a contract as it is to enter one. So if she entered it verbally, she should be able to exit in the same way. The purpose of getting an odometer reading NOTARIZED seems to be just to frustrate the client and/or slow down the process. Furthermore, service warranties that extend beyond a year, or contracts above certain dollar thresholds (often $500), typically must be written. A purely verbal warranty contract may not even be legally binding in the first place. We want this contract cancelled immediately, and the money charged to her over the last 3 months refunded (payments of $205 on 6/9/25, $158.58 on 7/7/25, and $158.58 on 8/7/25).The business so far has not been willing to resolve the issue without our first undergoing unreasonable cancellation procedure. Bear in mind that my mother is 88 years old and cannot easily get to a notary's office, nor should she have to. This is fraud, predatory business practice and elder abuse.Business Response

We take customer service seriously and do our best to ensure everyone we deal with has a pleasant experience. I understand your frustration, and we will have someone from customer service reach out to you. Unfortunately, in the world we live in we do have to keep certain requirements for cancellations to ensure correct mileage usage as it pertains to refunds as the liability of any repairs falls on the administrator of the policy while it is in force. We are not in the business of keeping individuals' money or dragging out the process, it is for the reason I mentioned. We will do whatever we need to do to assist you in obtaining the requirements and to issue your mother a refund. When an individual calls in and does not share that they have a power of attorney or someone that makes their financial decisions for them we do not discriminate based on age by preventing them from making a purchase if they choose to do so. We will include your mother on our suppression list from any future mailings or interactions with our company.Customer Answer

I have reviewed the business' response and am rejecting it because:I reject the premise that a notarized odometer reading is required to nullify the contract. What does an odometer reading have to do with liability for repairs, of which there are NONE?
We are hereby certifying that there are no repairs pending, and we will not lodge any repair requests under the ASSET DRIVEN policy. Instead we would like the policy declared null and void immediately, and all funds charged refunded to the account charged.
As a final point, we were not asked to submit an odometer reading at application time making the request for a reading now even more irrelevant.
Sincerely,
**** ********Business Response

In my prior response I was clarifying the reasoning behind the mileage verification requirement. We are issuing your Mother a full refund, and we will not require the mileage verification.Customer Answer

We have repeatedly received misleading ********************* Notification postcards from Asset Driven. Over the past several months, we have called them at least a dozen times to explain that we already have an extended factory warranty directly through Toyota8 years/100,000 miles bumper-to-bumper with no deductible. ****** has confirmed that Asset Driven is not affiliated with them in any way and is aware of these deceptive mailings.Despite this, Asset Drivens representatives have insisted there is no way we have the warranty we describe and claimed we must be mistaken. We have requestedmultiple timesthat they remove our personal information from their mailing list, but the mailings **************, after receiving yet another postcard, we called again and were told they would only remove our name if we paid them $49.73. This is unacceptable, and in our view, constitutes harassment.Asset Drivens actions appear to be an ongoing scam designed to mislead consumers and extract payment to stop unwanted contact. Physical mail should have the same opt-out protections (and enforcement penalties) as email and text marketing. Until stronger laws are in place, companies like this will continue to operate with questionable practices.Business Response

Thank you for bringing this concern to our attention. We take every request to be removed from our marketing list seriously.
Mr. ****** contacted us twice on July 29th and again on August 11th. While he stated there were additional calls, our records show those three instances. Importantly, his information was removed from our data pool on July 29th, the same day he first contacted us. We purchase data in monthly batches, some mailings may have already been in progress, but no new mailings have included his name since that date.
We regret any frustration this caused and appreciate the feedback, as it helps us continue improving how we handle removal requests. I know consumers can receive multiple solicitations from vehicle service contract companies, I do not have any record of one of our representatives attempting to charge someone to remove their name. I hope Mr. ****** finds this answer sufficient and we apologize for any frustration we may have caused him.Initial Complaint

This company is either a fraudulent company that is making false claims of its legitimacy and taking advantage of senior citizens and disabled, or it is a shell company that is falsely advertising and using strong arm tactics to work its way into widow's housing.I have tried to contact this company to cancel a policy they sold me less than 10 days after agreeing to it, and I am unable to reach them. I have tried through the website (the phone number listed there is disconnected and the contact us form goes unanswered), through a different phone number (which keeps you on hold waiting for at least 35 minutes--even during listed business hours), and through their payment system provider *****, which when reached, tells you they are unable to cancel the policy and you must contact Asset Driven LLC to cancel. The owners of this business are listed in multiple locations, like ******* ****** and ******. Good luck trying to nail down these folks. This business should be investigated and at the very least, avoided by all who value your time and hard earned money.Business Response

We market to individuals using information from public record. Occasionally the information we receive is inaccurate. We do our best and due diligence to ensure the accuracy of the information we are using and will kindly remove you from any future mailings at your residence. Our motivation is not to waste anyone's time or cause confusion. We do not include potential customers phone numbers on any of our mailers, only our number. I have absolutely NO IDEA who "Asset Driven" is, but they sent me a written notice that is HIGHLY suspicious. (Phishing campaign?) The matter revolves around an "Activation Required For Coverage Validation" mailing I received via ***** There is NO DATE on the mailing, although I received it about December 3rd, 2024. It is one sheet of paper, looks fairly "formal," and "seems" to suggest that it's an automobile insurance company reaching out regarding coverage "validation" (whatever THAT means) for a 2020 ******** XT5. I've never owned a ******** in my life, and don't plan to do so now. The bottom of the paper has what appears to be two cut-off "cards" one could use to presumably show for proof of insurance. SOMEHOW, they were able to find my name and Conroe, ***** address, hence the mailing to me at my home. Also, there's an "Agent" area on the "card" stating that the agent is *********** C ********, *** and that his (presumably) business address is *******************************************************************. The directive within and at the bottom of the mailing states to "Call now" and that I "Must Activate Policy With a State Licensed Agent." Which is funny, being that I'm not a resident of ********, and never have been. The toll-free number to call is marked in at least three places on the mailing as **************. Lastly, it states it is NOT a bill, so - as far as I'm aware - there's no money that's been involved... yet.THANK YOU ahead of time for resolving this matter, as I just want to bring attention to this, as it appears HIGHLY suspect! I do NOT have the ability to scan the document at this time, but I will keep it for two weeks from today's date should you wish for me to mail it to you for whatever reason. Again, thank you, and have a blessed day,-***** *****Business Response

We use public records as a means of marketing to prospective clients. In ********, *************** Contract Providers are required to be licensed through the ************* of Insurance, along with the company. The licensure requirement is based on where the company is located, not the consumer. On occasion we have had incorrect vehicle data due to the large amount of mail sent. We will remove Mr ***** from any future communications from us as of today.Initial Complaint
