1 starTerrible Experience – Would Not Recommend We hired Renewal by Andersen (Bangor, ME) in April 2024 for a full-house window and door replacement. A year later, the project is still not complete. We've dealt with multiple wrong orders (doors, trim, hardware), repeated installation failures, and serious communication issues. We had to travel back to Maine twice just to oversee their mistakes, and no one ever took real responsibility. They missed their own promised timelines, failed to order products correctly, and we were left with mismatched keys, the wrong door color (twice), and no clear resolution in sight. To make it worse, our 12-month financing period expired while they dragged their feet, and now we’re being told we have to reapply under worse terms. Additionally, Renewal by Andersen’s corporate office has proved completely unsympathetic to our experience, as no one has responded to our emails or phone calls. This was a major investment and has been one of the most frustrating experiences we’ve ever had with a contractor. Proceed with caution.Review fromCatherine Lopez G

1 starNature of Complaint: Misleading Sales Tactics, Poor Workmanship, Property Damage, Unprofessional Conduct We contracted Renewal by Andersen for window replacement services based on assurances of quality, professionalism, and efficiency. Unfortunately, our experience has been the opposite. We were told during the sales visit that we would receive a $1,500 discount and same-day measurements if we signed the contract that evening. We agreed, but the project manager later said accurate measurements couldn’t be taken due to darkness. This was misleading and made us feel pressured. We also opted for an 18-month no-interest, no-payment financing plan. The approval system was malfunctioning, extending our appointment from 6:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The next day, we received multiple calls, texts, and emails from the finance team while we were working, creating significant stress and pressure. When measurements were finally completed, the project manager informed us of multiple discrepancies: We can paint the interior trim (we were told we could not). Labor warranty is five years (we were told two). The window warranty is twenty years (we were told ten). On installation day, installers arrived at 7:00 a.m. and were expected to finish by 2:00 p.m., but stayed until 4:30 p.m. due to incorrect window sizes. We were told they would need to either lower the window openings or cut into our home’s siding, only two years old. Post-installation, the J-Channels were visibly cracked and installed improperly, leaving exposed expanding foam. The project manager later confirmed the poor installation and is now working with a manufacturer to order new J-Channel and replace it. This process requires me to take another day off to babysit for the installers, who, by the way, we were told are certified technicians.Review fromPamela S

1 starWe had our front entry door installed and the entire process has been nothing short of a pain. We ordered the door and hardware in January 2025 and as of today (4/15/25), we still have not received our completeorder. In March, they were to install the door on a Monday but the installer called and said that he couldn’t come because his employee called in sick. Then two weeks later; they came to install but didn’t have the correct hardware and door handles. We are told then by the project manager that the handle was shipped over night the day before and that’s the reason for the install date. Once they arrived the door handle and hardware was incorrect. They went ahead and installed our black door with navy blue handle and locks. Then that evening another project manager called and stated that everything we were told was incorrect and that he was going to compensate us for all the days missed work and the hassle of the project. Today was supposed to be the day the installed our correct handle but unfortunately we get a bluer handle that is brighter than the one currently on the door. The guy asked if we wanted that handle. Ugh no we want what we paid for and promised. Then he went onto say that it will be another 8 weeks before we get the handle that we ordered. Apparently the handle we have belongs to another homeowner who is also getting the run around. I have called numerous times asking for upper management to call but as always no return call. Any other time they would be blowing up my phone with calls, text and emails which is what happened until door was installed. It was Geri g to the point of harassment. Please avoid doing business with Renewal By Anderson.Review fromJackie S

1 starThis company WILL NOT leave us alone. They send us constant emails, flyers, and phone calls. We have reached out to them several times and asked to be removed from communications but they still keep coming. If anything, this tells me NOT to go with them because they spend all their time advertising and not working. The most obnoxious company next to Chris Lindahl billboards.Review fromMichael W

1 starHad all windows in house replaced along with French doors to deck and Provia door on front of house. Deck doors and front door have warped and it’s been 2 months since filing a warranty order. The other day I called and they informed me it would be June 2nd before they received the replacement door from Provia. I called Provia and they informed me that it’s 4 to six weeks to get my door. Renewal by Andersen has dropped the ball and being dishonest with me. I spent $97,000.00 and this is how they treat you on warranty claims. Do not do business with them. I regret getting involved with them!Review fromKatrina V

1 starThe sales person that showed up was friendly enough however he explained two types of windows available theirs and vinyl. He said vinyl windows are cheaper & only last 3-7 years. This is a bold face lie, we have vinyl windows in our primary residence that are at least 15 years old & they work perfectly and look beautiful. He also showed us one of their windows and couldn’t get it to go back up. It was off the track & he didn’t know it. He quoted us for 11 windows & two sliders $52,000.00 no joke. Where do they get off charging $52,000.00 for windows & doors. Who can pay that? We asked him about only replacing one slider, the worst one, he quoted $10,000 - $11,000. WHAT??? While he was there he said he emailed me the quotes, we never received them!! This company needs to have honest people who don’t lie & waste our time. Oh by the way they don’t carry vinyl windows! I don’t recommend this company. If you do get a quote be careful of the lies! We will be shopping elsewhere!!!Review fromRichard & Lori P

We got an estimate for windows for our house being remodeled. The estimator showed us pictures of warped window frames from vinyl product and claimed RBA had NO VINYL. This is important in our Arizona heat and we wanted no vinyl. We did further research to learn that their window frames are actually 80% vinyl in their FIBREX product. That was when we cancelled our contract- 2 days after the measurements were done. We were told by the estimator that it would be a 3-4 months wait and the measuring guy said 2-3 months. BUT they claimed our windows were already done when we cancelled. SO they lied to us again, either way the timing was wrong. Now they are refusing to refund our deposit for their wrongly represented product- 80% vinyl. Also we have heard there are problems with the size of their frames. More lies!!Renewal by Andersen, LLC

Thank you for your review. Our Fibrex windows are a blend of 40% wood fiber by weight, mostly reclaimed from manufacturing processes, with 60% thermoplastic polymer by weight. This composite retains its stability and rigidity in all climates. We're sorry to hear about the issues you've had with your local team. We will pass your review along to our team to review and look into further.Review fromJim T

No stars!!!! Anderson started our install on November 11th 2024, bear in mind this was only 1 door going from a slider to a french door. The job was finally finished on March 13 2025. I told them we wanted $5000 compensation. I told them this after they were done and we were without the use of a door for 4.5 months. Bear in mind I offered to pay them $10,000 no financing the next day so they would get some of their money but they said no. I wanted $5000 forgiven we have still not signed the complete job order. The way the job order is written that we would acknowledge we were completely satisfied and then the financing would start which would be one year same as cash. We are not satisfied, 4.5 months without the use of a door, never knew if it would lock of not, and the inconvenience of multiple visits by their installers until they decided we needed a new lock set,.The one they brought with them the day of the install would not work so we went 7 weeks with an allen wrench for a handle on the inside and tape covering the hole on the outside. These people do not understand inconvenience. they had to replace the door as the whole this warped while they were waiting for parts. I am not a dead beat I own my own business and if I treated my customers the insulting way they treated us then I would have no customers. they got an offer from us which we believe is fair, but now they will spend that money taking us to courtRenewal by Andersen, LLC

I should have read all these complaints before calling in RBA to install 3 windows in my condo! I will refrain from giving you the whole story since it is a repeat of some of the circumstances that I have already read here! They could not be trusted and after raising ‘holy you know what’ I was able to get my deposit back and get out of the contract! DONT TRUST THIS COMPANY…THEY HAVE SMOOTH TALKING SALESMEN THAT DONT CARE TO LISTEN TO THE CUSTOMER AND ARE INTERESTED IN ONLY MAKING A SALE…no matter what it costs the customer!!!Renewal by Andersen, LLC
