In October of 2020, I contacted laphams heating and cooling to replace a furnace/a/c combo, and upgrade my furnace to a new location the basement, which required new plumbing for the propane to be ran. I went with them to contract the job. After the unit was installed, within the first week I noticed the smell of propane from around the furnace, which struck me as not normal. So I called laphams to have a tech come out to check for a leak. The tech that came out said there was no leaks and we went about life as normal, though I never saw savings on my propane bill, even though we upgraded to a 99% efficiency furnace. Fast forward to February of this year, we come home to our home wreaking of propane. I went. Downstairs and it was clearly coming from the furnace, so I shut the valve off and contacted laphams heating and cooling. When the tech came to our house the next day, I went down in the basement with him to watch his work and see what was going on with the leak. When he went to check the tightness of the pipe that they installed ( ********* line pipe) It was not even hand tight. He looked up at me shocked. I asked him was that really just hand screwed on there? He said yes. Every. Single. Fitting was loose going to the furnace. The tech had to go back through and tighten them up quite a bit with a wrench. I expressed how dangerous that could have been for us, essentially just a ticking time bomb waiting to blow our house off the foundation. Also the cost of all the wasted propane. When I called laphams heating and cooling after the tech left, I spoke with the secretary and expressed my concerns. I told her I would like to talk to the owner and hear what his response to this would be. It has been two months now and I have heard nothing from them. I am trying to calculate the financial loss from all of the propane wasted. But the least I am seeking is an explanation and apology from the owner. Thank you for any help you can provide
