On March 1st 24 brought my GMC terrain in Fox dealer for a recall problem. (headlights) Asked the service advisor if he could check a noise that the car had, around the serpentine belt area and let me know if it was anything to be concerned about. I was in the lounge at the dealer waiting for my car, and the service person came to the lounge and said the noise was a bad water pump. the bearings were probably bad. I said are you sure the car only has 27000 miles . He said the repair was $1250 For a water pump? He said maybe we could do it for $1000. At that point I felt like I was being sold something I didn't need. I told him I was going to wait awhile to see if it overheated or started leaking coolant. Waited about 2 weeks and went back and made a appointment to get the problem fixed. Told the service person please make sure the water pump is the problem before you do the repair. The car took two days to repair, I was told one day. They had to order parts they didn't have in stock. I feel like I was sold something I didn't need. Wrote a review to Cars.com about my experience at the dealership. Received a call from the service manager at the dealership wondering what the problem was. Told him the story and he said he would talk to his superiors and get back with me. Called back about an hour later and said that they were willing to split the cost and give me $500 dollars back if I would take the cars.com posting down. I said I would. He mentioned that the other $500 would pay for the parts and techs wages that replaced the part. I said that sounds fair. Still waiting for the check.
