  Initially skeptical, I personally spoke with my uncle from New York in Houston, Texas, and Boston. The radio works even when my cell phone doesn't have service, and the group feature allows for individual conversations with family, friends, or my uncle, offering endless possibilities.

  These are great radios. I have used them to communicate all across Texas. They worked perfectly. Some people are angry due to the annual $50 sim charge but that really cost nothing for peace of mind. Others say well if the cell towers go down so will these radios. Never in my lifetime (53) have I ever seen ALL cell towers go down so as long as some are working you will have a signal. During 9/11 you couldn't reach anyone due to congestion on the towers, but these radios would still work due to the band they use. Very satisfied.

  I have both kinds of radios from RapidRadios.com. the ones that use cell service, I got the 4 pack. Recently my parents took the grandkids to Yellowstone, Sturgis and Mt Rushmore. My mom's cellphone stopped getting service, but her radio still worked so she called us on the radio and we were able to book them RV spots. With out the radios they would have ended up sleeping on the side of the highway with 3 kids under 10. My dad was continually checking in while driving from Seattle to Sturgis and back, there was only a couple of dead spots. We all love these things and encourage others to get them if you have kids. I got them because my dad refuses to get a cellphone and I refuse to give my kid a cellphone.

  These radios work really well for groups—mine is the Metal Detecting group, which goes out and prefers to talk to a small number of people at a time. Undoubtedly tough, similar to the Nextel's ??

  These radios have only been with us a few days, but already they are operating flawlessly. We sent emails asking for help with a few minor tweaks, like renaming the radios and changing the time zone. We received rapid responses, and the changes were completed remotely for us. We have not experienced any problems with range or clear communication, and the radios are well-built with an amazing battery life. These radios and the timely, courteous, and competent service we've had have made us very delighted. We heartily endorse Rapid Radios and will buy more when needed!

  I bought two of these and gave one to my girlfriend who lives 20 miles north of me. When our cell phone Signal gets sketchy, We can talk on these with absolute clarity. These are clearly not the same old walkie-talkies. I am a motorcyclist and take Long trips. I'm planning a trip up the Oregon coast and along the Columbia river and I'm looking forward to trying these radios out on that trip.

  I have now purchased 18 Rapid Radios for my security team. I am in ** and spoke with an employee who was in ********, they work great. I plan on purchasing several more, much cheaper than cell phone costs.

  Due to my Rapid Radios' continued flawless operation, I was untouched by the recent ATT outage. There were no problems in my communication with my team. These radios are incredible!
