    In less than a year parakeet has raised the rent in our park by 100 dollars a month and then 75 dollars a month respectively when for the past few years the rent had increased by 20 dollar increments and mor importantly when inquiring about the costs associated with these increases no one has returned phone calls or texts for a couple of weeks now and other remnants have told me the same. Before the increases rent was 390 and now it is 560 again in about 10 months time which is a significant percentage increase without explanation as well we are a plane Jane park with no amenities except for the mailbox. So it's hard to contemplate such increases or to have an explanation which seem to be impossible at this point.

    We regret that you are not in complete agreement with the recent lot rental increases.  In the past couple of years inflation and the general price of consumer items and utilities has been on the rise. This uptake in costs has led to an increase in many areas of the economy such as increased vehicle costs, increased housing costs, increased lot rental costs and many others.  That being said, lot rental rates in the $500 in todays market is still very competitive. Additionally, all lot rental increases were performed in complete compliance with the laws of Florida.   This tenancy is state regulated and supervised by the Department of Business and Professional Regulation.  I am sorry to hear that your messages were not timely returned.  That is not normal.  For future questions, please reach out to us directly including by email.

    I still have not received and facts or financial statements to back up their claims of increases. They mentioned inflation but inflation wad 8 percent last year and 3.2 this year and in the same time our rates increased 43.5 percent.

    I am paying rent and water charges to Parakeet Community. My water is normally between 30 to 40 dollars and at the very maximum it is 50. Last month I was charged $63.72. I called and spoke on the phone with the property manager *********************** on Tuesday, December 20, 2022. She said that she was driving and that she would get back to me about the water bill. She never returned my call. Today December 22, I saw that I have been charged $60.86 when the month is not even over. I called *********************** and her secretary said that she was not available. I asked to see the meter readings and Parakeet Community refused to show me the meter readings. I haven't seen anyone come to do the meter readings at my property. I work from home Monday to Friday. I want to see their meter readings, and I want to get refunded the extra amount that I was charged for last month's water bill. I want to get charged the correct amount for this month's water bill, and be shown meter readings.

    We have recently added new satellite water meters. In the past the resident received a discount on her billing. The new meters have created efficiency and correct billing. We have contacted the resident through phone and email on January 20th with the detailed billing information for the meter reads. We do apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

    Dear Better Business Bureau:
    I represent the owner of Parakeet Communities. This correspondence is in
    response to the complaint filed with the Better Business Bureau by *********************** on or
    about October 11, 2022, against my client, Parakeet Communities.
    *********************** is a tenant of a mobile home community. As a tenant, he pays
    monthly lot rental to the mobile home community owner. In his complaint, **************
    alleged his lot rent of $300.00 a month is too high because he believes some other
    lots in the community are renting for $225.00 per month. The monthly lot rental
    amount often varies depending on the size of the lot, the location of the lot and the
    year the lease was effectuated. All monthly lot rental charges were properly
    approved and agreed upon by both the landlord and tenant.
    ******************* complaint alleged he was overcharged in September of 2022.
    Rent is due on the first of each month. A Non-Sufficient Funds Fee of $35.00
    is charged when rent payments are returned for insufficient funds. **************
    attempted to pay rent on September 5th and the payment was returned to us due to
    Insufficient funds. He was then appropriately charged a Non-Sufficient Funds Fee
    of $35.00 and subsequently made payment again that was accepted. As a courtesy,
    the $35.00 Non-Sufficient Funds Fee was immediately removed from his account.
    Parakeet Communities strives to provide the best living environment possible for its
