Hello, my drive train on my car broke down so I was unable to use my car yesterday 7/18/23. I called Bolt Towing and they gave me the price of $900 to go from ********* MD to *********** **. Around this way they do not have the parts my car needed. To begin, ****** the tower, was screaming at me to get in his car. Mind you, I have never been in this situation before. I had a bad feeling. He claimed its a dangerous job and I was in a bad spot etc. Still no excuse to be yelled at. We pull around the turn into royal farms to fully secure my car. He told me they can only do part credit card and was very weary of using a credit card at all. I mentioned I needed a receipt. They wanted cash he basically demanded cash. I said Ill do half and half bc credit card protects me. I go into the *********** to get cash out. When I come out he tells me that the price is going to be more now because there is traffic. So it went from $900-$1100. I said that didnt make sense it was about 5:30pm at this time. They should have quoted me that to begin with. He tried to back track and say ok $900. This is predatory. I then told him to please put my car down and I will pay him for going around the turn. He told me $175. I said that I felt unsafe and I was ready to call the police. He threatened to impound my car. I ended up paying the money he mentioned that I rushed him out there. Even though towing services are emergency. They have yet to give me a receipt so I can submit it to my insurance company. I paid the $175 in cash. I finally got another tow from ****** tow company the total was $785. He told me to file a complaint for what this person did. Thankfully I am safe, this guy was irrational, and quite honestly I was worried about my well being due to his demeanor. This is predatory taking advantage of a young girl. I will be filing a complaint with the police department and BBB.Bolt towing should be put out of business.
