    Business Response

    Date: 06/18/2024

Our Financial Aid Administrator and the South Schools Director met with the complainant today, Tuesday, June 18, 2024, regarding her concern and inquiry sent to the Better Business Bureau.

The complainant was questioning whether she should be receiving money back from her Pell ****** The complainant stated that she was advised by her friend that she does ratchet street things with that her friend gets money back from her Pell *****s at her school. The complainant then stated, her friend advised her to go to the Better Business Bureau to get money back.

Our Director of South Schools explained to the complainant the differences between credit hour disbursements versus clock hour disbursements and over awards on a ledger account. The complainant does not have an over award or over payment on her account currently, she in fact has a tuition balance, therefore, she is not eligible for a check from an over payment of her Pell ****** The Director of South Schools went over her ledger statement with her that showed both disbursements of her Pell ***** and FSEOG ***** as well as her loans (subsidized and unsubsidized). We additionally explained that if she ever did receive a ***** that caused an over payment that the process would be for her the student, to sign for either receiving the overage funds back by a check or applied to her student loans directly. That choice would be hers, however, at this time she does not have an overage on her account.

We provided the complainant with a copy of her ledger statement as well as her ******************* Sheet that provides her financial package.

The Director of South Schools also explained that should she have any questions regarding her financial aid package, that her Financial Aid Administrator, whom she sees daily, would be happy to answer any questions or concerns she may have.
