Upon entering a contract for a 10x5 climate controlled storage unit, after paying for two months on it, I rented a truck and moved my belongings only to be faced with the reality he rented me a 5x5 climate control unit. Claiming it was 5x8 due to the HEIGHT... of the unit. I could not even fit my bed in it. Having a rental truck meant I had no time to bring my belongings back to where I was moving from leaving me in a situation where it was impossible to do anything but move my belongings into a NON climate control unit. I was charged even more money for this unit. It was not the unit agreed upon in the original discussion and agreement. Since that time I have been panicking about removing and placing as many of my belongings that can NOT be stored in a non Climate Controlled unit while still paying for a unit thats destroying my things being exposed to the elements. I have spent an incredible amount of money having to source rental trucks and gas to continue to remove my belongings to seperate places to store them. My move is an out of state move which also meant paying for hotel rooms to continue this removal of my property from this storage facility. When I was shuttled to a non climate controlled 10x5 unit, I requested insurance for 20k at 20 dollars approx more a month. In 5 months I was never given the insurance policy paperwork though I requested it several times and was brushed off with excuses everytime. Which leads me to believe he doesn't have ANY insurance (required or not) for said units. I am asking for a full refund of all monies paid for said unit including the added insurance, my truck rentals and gas compensation and the hotel relevant to my needing to remain in the same state as my unit to be able to access it for the moving of my belongings. During this time I was constantly harassed by being circled by the owners whenever I was at my unit. Whenever I did anything in my unit I'd be asked if I was moving out. This was a absolute nightmare con.
