    My then fianc and I booked our wedding at Compass Point Events for November 16, 2024. Upon meeting the owner **** we decided to book our wedding for $22,000. After booking the wedding over a year in advance and placing a deposit we met a side of the owner that was far from the person we had met when we originally toured the grounds. She became disorderly, messy and quick to anger which is leading me to believe that she may be having problems with alcohol as she would not remember entire conversations and plans that we would speak about and later try to discuss. We had also heard from other vendors that she has had problems with alcohol in the past. We had booked a brass band for a second line that never came due to her never confirming the booking. Prices changed just before the wedding after we would have very little options to replace her vendors that she suggested. There was no security guard on post which is illegal in the city of *********** for groups larger than a certain number and my wedding had over ********************************************************************************************* and out and we were offered no refund of our $850 payment. The handrails leading off some of the buildings are in complete disarray, swaying and barely holding any lateral pressure from a hand descending the stairs making for an unsafe environment. We did not receive certain food items that we requested and paid for to be served and never got a refund. The alcohol package that was purchased was not as advertised. The open bar was closed before the time we discussed it ending. Overall the owner of this establishment is not a genuine business woman, she practices deceiving techniques and shows no remorse for any of the terms of our contract that she violated.
