    First, I would like to say I, *** ******, am the one who deals with all the bills even though most of them come in my husbands name. On March 8, 2025, my husband, ****** ******, received a bill for $84 for trash pickup for December 2024 thru February 2025. However, D&S Trash has not provided trash pickup since October 2024. I paid the bill for July 2024 through November 2024, because we were planning on moving. In 2020 when I initially started having my trash picked up by them, the owner said that all payments are due on the first of each month, but are to be paid no later than the tenth of each month or they would not pick up the trash. It is even stated on the bills that this is their policy. I did not pay for further trash pick up because it was no longer needed. They have not picked up trash at that property (*** ******** **** ******* ** *****) since October 2024, but are still trying to bill me for a service they did not provide and their policy says they will not provide without receipt of payment in a timely manner. I tried to discuss this with the owner; she hung up on me and blocked my calls. Their have been times since their service has started that they have not provided it - for example during Hurricanes Laura and Delta, every Thanksgiving since trash pick up was on Thursday each week, the ice storm in February 2022- which was understandable because the roads were impassable and Thanksgiving being a holiday. However, they did not try to pick up the trash at their earliest convenience nor did they provide a refund or credit for those missed days.

    Dear Better Business Bureau,

    On March 8, 2025, Mrs. ****** contacted our office to inform us that she no longer resides at the address associated with her account and stated that she has not lived there since October 2024. We explained during this call that, as per our terms of service, customers must notify us if they wish to cancel service. This ensures accurate account management and final billing.

    It is important to note that we continued to provide services through December 10th, during which invoices were regularly issued. We did not receive any response or notification requesting service cancellation during that time. The complaint was first brought to our attention on March 8, 2025.

    Furthermore, during this period, we accommodated disruptions such as Thanksgiving, hurricanes, and a winter freeze by providing trash collection services on alternate days (either the following Saturday, depending on whether the landfill was open, or the following Thursday, when we would double the pick-up to accommodate up to 16 bags). Additionally, voicemail recordings were in place during these disruptions to inform our customers about schedule changes and updates.

         I am rejecting this response because: they made no mention of adjusting the bill.  They stated that they attempted to pick up garbage until December 10, 2024. That is one Thursday or one week out of the month of December that they attempted to pick up the trash. The service is $28.00 per month.   At some point, I should have received a final bill for $7.00 for the attempted pick up on Thursday, December 05, 2024.  Instead, I received, in March(some of my mail was still being forwarded from the other address, because as I received mail I was calling to have the addresses changed), a bill stating garbage service for February $28.00 and a total of $84.00- which amounts to the entire months of December, January and February. I attached a copy of that bill.  As I stated before, I was paid up through the entire month of November.  I attached a copy of the bill I received in July 2024.  I always make notations on the invoice of what I am paying for and the amount I am paying, then make a copy to send with my payment and keep one for my records.  Check number 1618 paid to D&S Trash in the amount of $119.00 was posted to my bank on August 05, 2024.   I am willing to pay the $7.00 for Thursday, December 05, 2024.
