Storage #3221 - (January 2021 to February 2022) I opened a month-to-month lease with Climate Control of Louisiana Self-Storage at 3147 College Drive on Jan 28, 2021. While in Shreveport, I received a message by email on Feb 18, 2022 stating that my payment for the month of Feb was overdue and my new balance with late charge would be $90.00. In response I made and online payment on Feb 23, 2022 for a total of $230.00 just in case I did not make it back to town to avoid possible future late charges. I returned to the storage space and had my lock cut off at a cost of $50.00 before 1 Mar 2022. At that time, I emptied out the storage and returned to the office to close my account (even donated the office staff large bad of straws). I wanted to get the refund processed but was told that the manager was out and it would be taken care of when he returned. I returned to my home in Alabama to await the delivery of a refund check that never came. After calling and never being able to talk to the manager or the owner I was given the email address ****************@yahoo.com to send my email receipts and notification as proof that what I was telling them true. I received an email response stating that they did not give refunds (Irregardless of the situation) and that they could only give me use of another storage. I am currently at my home in Alabama. I have no need of storage services. I am a single parent/disabled veteran that cannot afford to give away money especially $140.00. I was only using storage to safeguard some item while I emptied out my mother's home after her death. This is an unfair and unprofessional business practice that if allowed to stand needs to be shared with all current customers and future perspective customers. Unit 3221 has since been re-rented and to do so my account had to be zeroed out. So, what did they do with the overage on my account? What this business is doing is equivalent to theft and shows they do not operate in good-faith
