On 12/27/22 I entered in an agreement for bathroom repair/remodeling with **** ******** owner of Rusty Remodeling servicing. The total cost was to be $3500. I payed him $1750 which was half the payment for the total cost of the job. On 1/4/23 he came to my home and begin removing tile and sheetrock from my bathroom. He was there less than 3 hours. He then stated that he was half way finished with the job therefore I then owed half of the remaining balance of the project. On 1/4/23 I paid him an additional $875. Several weeks went by with unavailability and limited communication from Mr. *********. After reaching out several times he return to my home on 2/6/23 and done a few more to the bathroom. Such as repaired a few boards and floated the floor. Since then I have not been able to get in touch with Mr. ********* nor is he replying to my messages. After reaching out via text to notify him that if we couldn't come to a mutual resolution I would considering seeking legal advisement. I then received a text reply from someone stating that they were his cousin and that Mr. ********* is hospitalized for a mental disorder and that they don't know when he will be discharged. I ask what was the plan for his customers and getting their jobs complete. This person did not answer or reply.

My mother, ******** ******* hired this company on July 22, 2022. The job was for him to tear down a utility room and rebuild it. She paid him 2000 dollars cash up front. He started the job on July 23, 2022. She ended up paying him 7,500 that she has proof of. This included material. When she got in touch with him as to when he was going to finish the job, he told her he spent the money on something else instead of getting the material needed to finish the job. It is now October 27, 2022 and the job is still not finished. My parents are an elderly couple, it is soon going to be winter time. The outside walls haven't been finished, no paneling on inside, no tin on roof ( and it leaks), and the floor has not been finished. He took advantage of them because they were so trusting. My mother has checks that she has written him and also text messages between them documenting there conversations as to when he was going to finish the job. If he is not going to finish the job then he needs to refund there money so the can hire a dependable contractor to finish the job. They live on a fixed income so there is no way they can pay someone else to do what he was paid for.
