I am a new member to Cox and when I first signed up they told me they had a promo going on it was going to be 70 dollars a month for a year. The second month they charged 130 dollars and had hidden fees. There is no notification for when the promo ends and when it goes back up to the original amount. After contacting customer service they told us that there was nothing that they could do about our bill. It was very frustrating when one employee tells you one price and they charge you another. So we have to pay extra because of there mistake? The customer service lady was very rude and talk to us like we were stupid. I am very disappointed in there service.

On 10/04/2023 I reached out to cox mobile to see about transferring two phones from another provider. It was determined that I would have the two hones transferred once Cox Mobile sent two SIM cards. There are no instructions provided to the new customers concerning what is needed to transfer two phones. From another provider. FYI: the customer needs their account number and a port out number from the previous provider before attempting to transfer their phones. One phone was transferred on 10/19/2023, the second phone was never transferred due to an error between Cox Mobile and the previous carrier. A new phone number was issued on 10/25/2023. The first phone bill was posted with a billing date of 10/02/2023 through 11/03/2023. The problems with Cox Mobile only got worse as the previous provider decided that they would continue to bill for services when they no longer could provide the service being billed. It was determined that Cox Mobile had failed to cancel the port out transfer of the second phone and would need to do so in order to stop the billing process by the previous phone company.

On 11/12/2023, a Cox Mobile representative called to verify that the port out transfer on the second phone was to be cancelled. This was confirmed. Approximately 40 minutes later another call was received from a different Cox Mobile Representative verifying, again that the port out transfer for the second phone was to be cancelled. The customer confirmed the cancellation of the transfer of the second phone number since the number had been changed.

On 11/13/2023, the customer noticed that text messages were not going through on the first phone, it was dismissed as a hiccup in the service, after all it is cellphone service and a common occurrence. On 11/14/2023 the customer a terminally ill cancer patient attempted to call their doctor at 07:34 there was “No Service” showing on the phone, no phone, text, or internet was available the service was shut off without notice.

I've (family) has been with them for years mainly because they're our only option for internet.

in that time we've been with them, their internet speeds never got to what we paid for and in the last 5 years I would get common random drops in service for 1-5 mins.

more options are opening up with Fiber internet so we're switching to that.

I would NOT choose them as a provider

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

My dad has been a customer for 44 years he is 93 just crazy what we deal with the prices continue to change without notice so we decided to get rid of cable of course the levels to get an older person the content they want gets you into some unreal prices. I have spent 5 months on the phone and who knows how many phone calls trying to get the cable shut off and the internet reduced I would guess at least 40 phone calls hours and hours. I have been lied to over and over and disrespected. If you get a foreign person on the line you can bet they will not get anything taken care of and will argue and sometimes your prices go up after the call.
It's better to hang up and call back when a Foreign person answers.
After all of my calls that I record I still did not get the credit I was supposed to get. Today I almost got things done I was due a credit of 152.96 the guy came back and said he could get me $40 I said that is not 3 months worth he came back with 102.00 it's like anything they can do to keep a dollar. How much money do you suppose you made off my dad in 44 years? And how much did I get paid for hours and hours of phone calls and in the end how much did you waste on employees answering my calls? I am still due 50.96 because it took months to figure out and now they won't go back that far? Really if you gave me the credit when it was due we would not be try'n to go back.
I was told time and time again there was not lower Internet price yet there is I have it at my house. So yea they just lie. So many lies so many increases so many loops..
At 93 my dad would never have been able to make all these calls and get this account straight they know this they do this to older people all the time it is a Shame. For 5 years I have spent time with Cox trying to add or remove stuff from my dads service.
Customer Service here is a JOKE.. You should serve drinks with your calls
I would like my dad to get the final credit of 50.96

Cancelled my account, can only return equipment via actual store (60 miles away) or UPS store for no cost (also 60 miles away). I am paying to return via UPS as I'm not driving that far to return a modem.
Poor, frequent dropping of service over the last 3 weeks. I'd been a customer for 5 years but I must have service that is working.

For about 2 months i have been having random non stop ping spikes + packet loss. I have tried to contact them multiple times to see about issues in my area, but they are only willing to send a tech to my home and making me sound like a idiot with their solution. They said they were sending a reboot signal to my modem it never got a reset, once i told them it never did they kept saying they need to send a tech to my home to fix my issue. Another issue i bought a app from them called "Elite Gamer" to try out its basically a VPN to help with direct connection to game servers etc me asking them why it seems to be not working anymore being stuck on please wait when booting it up they once again kept trying to push to send a tech my home. Sadly this doesn't let me give 0 stars ill settle with 1

I’ve been using cox for our home internet for over 3 years now. I was sent an email back in July of this year stating “ Your internet is picking up speed
Great news! As a gift, we've increased your download speeds from 150 Mbps to 250 Mbps and your upload speeds from 10 Mbps to 25 Mbps—all at no additional cost. Want to enjoy your gift now? Simply reboot your modem.”

This was followed with: “ Keep in mind, if our rates change or a promotional rate ends, you'll still enjoy your gifted speeds at no additional cost.”

A few days ago I received an alert that my cox bill had changed and when I went to look they had apparently switched my plan entirely and were now charging me for the increased speeds. Initially I just went through their chat to just downgrade the service back to my original payment amount, but afterward I went and found the original email that specifically noted that second part stating there would not be any additional costs. When I called customer service regarding this, they told me I had been on some special promotion for a year and should have been paying more otherwise. (I’ve been paying the same amount and I have my bank statements to show it for the entire time I’ve been with cox) Something isn’t adding up and I feel the behavior is very suspicious and predatory.

They will not allow me to cancel my service. I have tried multiple times and they keep giving me the runaround. This is unfair as I am paying over $100/month for internet I don't use.
