Had a inspection done on June 19th 2025. Mechanic stated on a recorded line that the alignment is not repairable as there is not adjustable toe/alignment. I then reached out to receive a written statement and the manager ***** ****** lied and said he put all he found on the statement. Luckily with the new IOS 18 you can record calls natively. I am filing an anti consumer complaint with the states consumer protection division against Yost Auto Service, specifically ***** ****** for falsifying records, and am now forced to subpoena the mechanic that inspected the car.

    To whom it may concern,

on the day that *** ***** brought in his 2023 Chevrolet trailblazer, we did do an inspection specifically on the alignment and the angles of the rear axle upon checking the alignment, We found that aftermarket sources do not currently exist to compensate for damage to frame/body we did inform *** ***** of this and advised him to get a second opinion on the frame angles from a ***** **** **** since they are the ones that would be doing any kind of frame straightening. I informed his wife and him of these concerns the business did not charge them for the alignment check *** ***** wrote up a statement stating that I said the alignment could not be fixed, which is not a true statement. It could not be fixed at our shop since we do not straighten frames. He then wanted me to sign a statement that I did not write in his words so that he could receive compensation from The dealership that he bought the vehicle from. I cannot under oath sign something that I did not state and this is why we are currently debating this situation because I did not sign a statement that he wrote up. I’m not sure what else I can do for him. I have tried to reach out to him, but he will not return my calls. I did write a statement and signed it and sent it to *** *****, but he was not happy with the way I wrote it. I am more than willing to sit down and talk with him about the situation in detail if need be, please inform me of what I can do to remedy this situation for our customer?

Back in October i had struts put on my car and in December I took my car to their shop with a brake problem. They had my car several days and could not find what the problem was, The mechanic could not work on my car because he could not come to work due to the weather and he was sick another time. I contacted ***** and **** Several time to get an update on the car and they would laugh at me each time i called or went to the shop. FInaly on 1/9/24 ***** called and said that they found out that Mel Hambleton gave them the wrong part that they put on my car and it would be finished. I picked it up and it still had the same problem that i took it in for, I called several times and he told me that it would be awhile before he could get to it. The Next day i was driving and my light came on that stated it needed brake fluid, so i stopped at ********* and they put in the brake fluid, and said there was not much there. I decided to take my car somewhere else. I did not have the funds since i spent so much at thier location i had to wait awhile. In March I took my car to ***** ********** and they had to re-do all the work that Yost had done, Even the Struts were bad and had to be replaced that i had replaced in October. I contacted them in Feburary Telling them of the problems, and again in April asking for a Refund. No Answer. I do not have the funds for an Attorney, My Husband has died, I live off of my paycheck only. And this was alot of money to pay out having to pay two different Mechanic Shops for the same service

In response to the claim that we laughed at her when she called for statis updates on her vehicle - That is in false statement per both of my service Writers at that time.

I do agree with the claim that the technician could not come in due to weather he lives 1 hr. away and we did have inclement weather that week.

We have received the 2 letters from the customer, 1st one she wanted no response from us, so we have honored her wishes. The 2nd was a certified letter that stated she wanted her money back for work we had previously performed on her vehicle, because another shop said it needed the same parts replaced.  We do carry a 12month 12,000-mile warranty on all work we do, at no time did she reach out to us with any concern of complaint or problem with the vehicle repair, she took it upon herself to have the work done at another repair facility and our warranty does not cover (Other shops to do repairs)

If the customer Would like to bring back Parts Struts & master Cylinder that were replaced at other shop our vendor will refund under their warranty.

We are unhappy that any customer would leave our facility and not be happy with the service that they received, we hope that we could have an open line of communication before it is taken to this extreme, If She would like to call and talk it over with us, we would be open to it.

I called about a starter replacement on November 6, 2023. Told them my starter went out, described what was happening and the gentleman agreed it sounded like the starter. I asked for a quote and he said $400.00 after taxes and that it would take around a couple hours. I agreed and had my car towed there later that day. Upon arrival I was told that if they didn't do a diagnostic test and that was not the problem I would still have to pay for the repair. I agreed to the diagnostic testing at $127.00 per hour. So now I have agreed to roughly $500.00 another gentleman called me and told me they were having trouble finding the correct starter. Eventually they got one the next day, and said it would now be $631.00 for the repair. I expressed my unhappiness at the cost but agreed as I need my car in order to work, and since I was already so far into the cost that I couldn't afford to tow it somewhere else and pay them to do what Yost had already done. I had previously got a quote from a dealership for $778.30 with original equipment part but couldn't afford that so went to Yost after getting their quote. So by this time they have had my car an entire day as it is now 5:00 pm on Tuesday. I go to pick up car on Wednesday, and total bill is $743.55 I spoke to manager several times and they say they gave me a $100.00 discount but bill is still $743.55 The manager said he spoke with owner and there is nothing more they can do and that I could have told them no and taken my car elsewhere and they would only have charged me the diagnostic fee but they didn't tell me that till after I had the work done and asked to speak to manager or owner. My printed invoice has the wrong car listed on it though they say it just didn't update the information in their system till after was printed. So my original quote of $400.00 after taxes went up to $743.55 that is an increase of $344.00. I feel they cheated me and took advantage of a single working woman.

Yost Auto Service Shop Manager : ***** ******

I was the person that quoted the starter repair (over the phone).  Customer could not give me engine size at time of over the phone Quote, and I had told her that the quote could change pending specifics on her vehicles engine size.  She had he vehicle towed to us expecting to pay $400.00 bottom line.  When our customer came in she authorized us to do electrical diagnostics to verify that the starter was the problem and that we did not have any other electrical issues. My technician started out by testing the battery , Battery was low on charge and required Charing before a accurate test could be performed , after charging battery we were able to go ahead and test starter and alternator , after testing starter it did fail .  Next step was to check for correct voltage at starter when starter energized we did have 12 volts at Starter ,We then built a quote for the correct engine transmission (by the vin#) .

We did call the customer 2 different times to let her know there was a fitment problem with 2 starters we had received in both time she told us to proceed with repair with new totals that were given , she was informed by our service writer that she did have the option to have it towed to another repair facility if she deiced to not continue with the repair , she said since it was here, to go on with the repairs , she was given options , we have been more than up front with her in all of our conversation.  When I talked with her (3 different times ) When i asked the customer what we could have different through our whole process? "She responded honor your 1st quote and give me the rest of my money back ".

I do believe we have communicated to the best of our ability to this customer i find no faults in our processes.

Technicians Notes : Test battery, shows good 68% capacity, says charge and retest.
starter only clicked, turned engine over with wrench, engine is free,
starter would free wheel when engaged, removed inspection cover to inspect ring gear, it is all good.  Then will finish the Electrical Test
