When I purchased my vehicle I also purchased a MaxCare Repair Pal service warranty plan. When I needed service done, I searched their site for participating repair shops. Precision Tune AutoCare located at 640 Nieman Rd, Shawnee, Ks was on the list. I took my car in on May 9, 2025. The work was done, I was billed my $50 deductible and things were great. I took my car back to the same location on June 5, 2025(less than a month later). When they called me to pick up my car, I asked how much and they quoted me $160. $100 for labor and $60 for a part. I told them my deductible should be $50, They said the owner failed to renew the contract with MaxCare and the deductible would be $100. They also gave this sob story about a manager, ******, that stole money from the company. I called their other location in Independence, Missouri owned by the same owners they said they would have honored Max Care had I brought it there. There are signs that say "RepairPal" accepted there. I was told ***** and ***** ********* are the owners of both locations. I am asking for the $50 difference I should not have had to pay.

I am responding to complaint #********.  My name is ***** ********* and I along with
my wife Karen ********* are the owners of Precision Tune Auto Care in Shawnee
Kansas and serviced the vehicle for Ms. ******** on June 9th, 2025.  Ms. ******** states that her copay set by
Fidelity was $50 more for the service that was completed during this visit to
our shop.  Unfortunately, these fees are
set by Ms. ********’s warranty company, Fidelity, and not by Precision Tune
Auto Care nor do we have any input as to what Fidelity may have on their
website when it comes to recommending an automotive repair shop to their
customers.  Fidelity made a change in the
deductible for their customers when having repairs done at the Shawnee Kansas
location, which they may or may not have shared with their customers.  The repair costs as well as the deductible
incurred by Ms. ******** were dictated by Fidelity based on her warranty with
them.  We informed Ms. ******** of this
and advised her to contact her warranty company, Fidelity, and discuss this
change with them.  The Shawnee location
is still an approved repair pal facility as shown in the photos sent in by Ms.
********.  Fidelity is just one of many
warranty companies that choose facilities for their customers via Repair
Pal.  CarMax, the parent company under
which Fidelity operates made the decision to increase the deductible at the
    Shawnee location.  The information listed
below was included on the paperwork at checkout which would allow her to
contact her warranty company concerning their increase of the deductible amount
they now require their customers to pay.
While we strive to provide top service to our customers, this is a
matter that Ms. ******** would need to discuss with her warranty provider,
    Fidelity.

I took my car to *********, and they broke the drain plug, I went to ***** **** ****** and their total was $1,740.08 to fix. ********* sent me to Precision Tune because it was cheaper. Precision Tune did not replace the oil pan. They drilled the old plug out, put in a bigger plug and placed magnets on the bottom of the pan to catch the shavings inside. I called and told them what I found, and he stated he did replace the oil pan and I needed to talk to ********* because that's who paid for the work. The total of $1,598.34 was paid on 2/28/24. You can look at the car ant tell the old oil pan is still there and the bolts has never been touched with two magnets on the bottom. I took it to Raytown Auto Repair, and they gave me an estimate of $2,036.02 this was on 3/13/24.
I would like to get the money back that ********* paid so I can get the oil pan fixed. I cannot drive this car at this time because the shavings have gone up in the motor. I also had to purchase another car so that I can have transportation. Attached are the estimates, paid receipt plus photos.

In response to ***** ***** complaint.  Unfortunately, *** ***** was not our customer, ********* was.  ********* instructed us to tap the customers original oil pan and to place a larger oil drain plug into the vehicle.  We did exactly what was asked of us by our customer *********.  If *** ***** did not like the fact that a new oil pan was not installed on the vehicle, she needs to take this up with *********. While it is understandable the customer would have liked to have a new part installed, ********* instructed us not to do so.  Since ********* was our customer and paying for the work to be done, we had to abide by their wishes, not *** *****.  Please contact us if you have any further questions or concerns.

I took my 2015 Chevrolet Equinox LT to precision tune in Shawnee ks on 09/30/2022 and requested the services of oil pressure sensor replacement and oil change. They took my vehicle into the mechanic area looked under the hood. They came to me and said I have a rear seal leak. I told them to fix the problem. I waited an hour and a half for them to complete the services. They charged me $554.50 for these services well, the problem was not fixed. There's oil all over my engine top and bottom. I just want to report this business for charging without doing the services.

I am writing to defend the complaint ******** submitted by customer **** ********. This customer brought her car to Precision Tune Auto Care Shawnee on 9/30/22 requesting an oil pressure sensor replacement and oil change.  These services were performed correctly and completely at with time the customer was charged $554.50.
The customer returned on 11/18/22 and said their issued was not resolved.  When we looked into the issue we found the oil cap was off.  After showing this to the customer, they stated their daughter had topped off  the oil and the cap was not put back on correctly by their daughter. We checked the oil pressure sensor and there were no leaks.  We cleaned the oil off the motor caused by the customers daughter.  All was done at no charge and the customer signed the attached estimate stating work was done, the previous work was done correctly, and the problem was not due to our work but due to her daughter not putting the oil cap on correctly.
Based on the fact the work was performed correctly and that the problem arose due to the customers daughter, we ask that this complaint be closed and removed from our public record.
