    I hired this company, Modern Concrete, 1**** * ***** ******* ******** ***** ** ***** ****** * ***** for my concrete job to do my front steps, side walk to the driveway, and two slabs in front of my garage. The demolition and cleanup of the old concrete had already been done by another company. So, the only thing he had to do was to do some minor leveling and create the mold to pour the concrete. I paid $1200 in cash as advance payment on 10/09/2024, and the balance of $5000 in cash on 10/12/24 after the job (Total-$6200). He had initially given me an estimate for $6000, and added $200 more for 5" slabs.

    I had real concerns on the day of my job when I saw that they were cutting corners to reduce the area and thickness. They did not keep my steps straight, poured the slabs too long without proper dividers, and verbally convinced me of the 5” thickness. They never caulked the gap between the slabs and my garage to prevent water damage and did not remove extra concrete and rods hanging out from slabs. They ruined a large area of my grass in my front lawn bringing the concrete in wheel barrows from the truck. Since I saw that he is not willing to do anything without paying him more, I let him go and hired someone else to fix all the mess. Within a few months, the slabs started cracking and now it has cracked all the way from one side to the other, and a big crack between the steps from one end to the other. There are additional more small cracks.

    We waited for almost 10 days to put our vehicles inside our garage and watered the entire area several days. I have been contacting Juan regarding these cracks with pictures, and he is just fooling and giving me run-arounds to come by for more than a week now. He does not have any intention to resolve my concerns, or honor the warranty for his job. I expected this work to be a long time investment. Hence, I request you to kindly take appropriate action against this company and do the needful by replacing the cracked areas.
