On Saturday, April 5, I awoke to find lawn signs indicating my lawn had been treated by Experigreen Lawn Care. I was never contacted by the company for lawn treatment for 2025 and I never called them. I checked my email inbox and found in my Junk Mail, an upcoming visit notification sent to me on Friday, April 4 at 4:58 p.m. indicating that Experigreen would be out to treat my lawn on Saturday. I had previously used Experigreen during the 2024 summer season and expressed to them my disappointment with their service. I assumed I would not hear from them again. After treating my lawn on April 5, I received an email listing the lawn tech's findings and a billing invoice for $50--for a service I did not authorize. I immediately emailed Experigreen and said just that; I had to email them because the office was closed on Saturday. I would like this company to stop bothering me and offering me their services which I was unhappy with last year and to stop treating my lawn and stop billing me for a service I did not ask for.Business Response

*****, We are sorry to hear about the negative experience that you had with our company and would love to get this resolved. All services renew automatically from year to year, but we apologize for any miscommunication that may have taken place. Furthermore, we are saddened to hear that you were unhappy with the services we provided for you last year. We know that there were many calls made last year from you with our customer service team, but none of which you had expressed you were unhappy with your lawn. We can also see that you spoke to ****** who had set you up for a free follow up visit at that time when you had expressed your concern with the weeds in your lawn at that time which was on September 18th. We guarantee all of our services, so if there is ever a time that you are not happy with the way your lawn looks, you can reach out to us so we can get that taken care of. We tried calling you regarding this matter this morning but we were unable to leave you a voicemail. Since then, we have cancelled your account. If you have any questions or concerns, please let us know.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:
I am pleased that Experigreen has cancelled my account, I wish to refute a number of assertions made by the company. They state that services renew automatically from year to year, implying that I must just accept this. I was contacted by their salesperson in February 2024, and signed up then for lawn service by phone and was never told this service would automatically renew in 2025, nor was I ever offered a contract agreement to sign. Business acknowledges that I made many calls to them yet says they did not get the impression I was unhappy with their service. Why then, did they think I was calling so many times? There was no issue with billing or the lawn techs and I was not calling to chat with their call center staff. I called a number of times asking why my lawn still had so many weeds and bare spots. The only explanation I received was to be patient. Business further states they tried calling me before contact me or responding to BBB. That is false as I have checked my phone's caller ID feature which lists missed calls and found no call from Experigreen. I am not confident that this business knows the landscape business at all. Last fall, I was offered a lime treatment for my lawn by this company. I know for a fact that lime should never--NEVER--be applied to a lawn until a soil test has been performed on the lawn to determine if lime is needed. I was told by the representative of the business that a soil test was not necessary and the lime treatment would be offered at a discount. ************* Experigreen is focused solely on making money, not on customer satisfaction. As a customer, I was not satisfied, especially when this company performed a lawn treatment earlier this month without informing or asking me first, and then hurriedly billed my bank card.. My account with ********************** is cancelled and this ought to be the end of this issue.Initial Complaint

I was contacted by ExperiGreen ************ approximately 3 weeks ago and was offered their lawn treatment service. I declined the offer and informed them that I would contact them if I wanted their services. Approximately 1 week later I received a text message stating that they were coming out to provide service. I called the manager and asked them to please leave me alone and DO NOT COME TO MY HOUSE. I received another text after that stating that they were coming to service my lawn. On March 27, I called the manager a second time. I insisted that they DO NOT COME TO MY HOUSE. I received a text message for the 3rd time on March 31 stating they were coming out to service my lawn. I contacted them immediately after the text message the same day and BEGGED THEM TO LEAVE ME ALONE AND DO NOT COME TO MY HOUSE. Today, April 1, 2025, I received a text message asking me to rate their services. After rating the service a 1 Star, and again stating that I did not want their service and to please leave me alone, I came home to find several of their ExperiGreen flags in my yard indicating that my lawn had serviced. I am a 75-year-old woman who at this point feel extremely threatened and taken advantage of. I am shocked at the lack of professionalism this company is displaying and am actually very frightened and concerned as to what they may try to do next. That is why I am filing this police report.Business Response

I had this company provide services last year. They autorenewed services with no communication that would allow me to cancel. There is no warning to allow a customer to cancel. By the time they have notified you they have completed an application. I find this to be a deceptive business practice.Business Response

Thank you for your feedback. We apologize for any frustration or miscommunication but all of our services are continuous from year to year so we can provide consistent care. This is the same way your services have been renewed each season since you signed up with us in 2022. We always try to send renewal emails in the off-season to allow customers to review their services and request changes before the season starts. It looks like we sent one to you on 12/2/24 and a second on 2/12/25, but we do understand that in some cases these may be missed or delivered to a spam inbox. Because we do require a written or verbal notice of cancellation before service and there was product put down, we would not be able to remove the full balance, but we would be happy to meet in the middle and refund half of the balance so there is only $39.05 charged. If you have any further questions, please let us know. Thank you!Customer Answer

Experigreen is the only lawn service we have used. Work and travel requirements necessitated we begin the use of a lawn service. Since Experigreen started servicing our lawn, they have destroyed it. Most of our lawn is now crabgrass, Bermuda grass, or weeds, inhibiting the growth of fescue. Experigreen supposedly consistently applied weed and crabgrass herbicide and two applications of Bermuda grass herbicide and the treatments have not worked. Experigreen makes every excuse as to why the liquid aeration and fescue seeding they perform does not work, blaming too much rain/watering, too little water (Experigreen's techs told us to water three times a week for 30 minutes and the service manager told us to water every day) not enough fungicide treatments (although all recommended were done), not enough shade, too much shade, and our favorite-our lawn does not get enough air flow. We have spent hours phoning and texting Experigreen to give them opportunities to resolve the issues, most unanswered and unanswered. We set meetings at the house with service managers to address our concerns which they postponed and then cancelled because they said they are already aware of the issues with our lawn.We asked for examples we could see of healthy fescue lawns that Experigreen services. The managers said they would get those to us and never have.Since Experigreen continues to justify why the fescue dies out, we expect a refund for all of the crabgrass, Bermuda grass and weed herbicide treatments Experigreen has performed. Since these applications were performed and charged together with fertilizer applications, we have split the combined cost for these services and are requesting $573.83 along with one Bermuda grass herbicide charge for $68.25 that we have not been reimbursed for-a total of $642.08. If Experigreen's herbicide treatments worked, we would have no crabgrass, Bermuda grass or weeds. Experigreen can come up with no excuse for their herbicides not working.Business Response

Thank you for your feedback. During your first service on 8/15/2022 it was noted that it was a mixed grass type of fescue and Bermuda with a lot of weeds both grassy and broadleaf. The note on 11/17/22 was good color. After the phone company tore up your lawn in November of last year we went out again in good faith to core aerate and seed the area disturbed by the phone company and other areas that you had concerns with (all done as a service call). On 4/25/24 we performed an LD service that the customer had agreed to and later stated she would cancel if we didn't credit. In good faith, we credited this service. We performed 3 chargeable services to try and limit the spread of native ******* at $68.25 per service. On 9/5 we credited one of those services and on 10/18 we credited the other 2 services totaling $136.50 plus the LAS that she had agreed to ($529). This year alone, you have been credited $971. The lawn suffers from both shade and full sun. We have worked with you for almost 3 years and noted repeatedly in the summer months that the lawn needs to be watered but unfortunately, there has not been evidence of this occurring since problems caused by lack of watering continue to occur. At this time we will not be offering any additional refunds or services as we have more than exhausted our efforts to resolve this issue.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:
Experigreen is still not addressing invasive grasses and weeds they have failed to kill/subdue taking over our lawn. We did not address fescue issues since Experigreen blames everything for fescue failing, yet this is where they focus to try and distract from the focal point of our complaint. We have a timed irrigation system. It automatically shuts off in rain-and the last two years have had an abundance of rain. The lawn has not been underwatered, but we cannot prove this to Experigreen. We therefore focused on the fact they have let invasive grasses and weeds take over, which is proveable and inexcusable. As noted on Experigreen's statements, nothing was reimbursed on 9/5 and on 10/18 they reimbursed 1 Bermuda herbicide treatment at $68.25 and the seeding and liquid aeration at $529 and regular fertilizer/weed control at $68.25 we specifically turned down when Experigreen called ahead to schedule. We only had the 2 recommended Bermuda herbicide treatments (that did not work) and were only reimbursed for 1. Experigreen takes no responsibility for fescue failing and we were not going to pay for more seed and liquid aeration. We suspended service with their *** that called and the main office until Experigreen took steps to fix the issues with all non-fescue grasses and weeds which they never did. Regardless of the suspension of services, Experigreen's tech came out on Saturday, 9/28 the day after hurricane ****** downed a tree and covered our lawn with debris, knocked out our power and sent us out of town and aerated, seeded, fertilized and applied weed control. That is the only reason Experigreen refunded the charge of $529 for liquid aeration, seeding, and the $68.25 charge for fertilization/weed control) -not out of courtesy to us-most of the yard could not even be serviced that day. Attached is a photo of our yard before hiring Experigreen.. Experigreen ls the expert in making excuses and not taking responsibility.Initial Complaint

A chemical compound ExperiGreen applied to my lawn stained the sidewalk in front of my house, my neighbors sidewalk, the walkway on the side of my house, and the wood along my back porch.I contacted the company and they said someone would come out and pressure wash the sidewalk but they never came out. I called again & was told they would have a manager come out and inspect the damage, but no one called me back or came out. I have tried to scrub the area with soap which faded the area, but my hose will not reach my neighbors walk way. I will have to purchase a pressure washer, hope it works and repaint the wood in the back. It would be nice if the company had the decency to return my calls and take responsibility for the damage. I tried to upload a picture, but this website said the file was too large.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:
Experigreen did not follow through with their promised response.***** ***** did come out and pressure wash the concrete, however the pressure washer removed the paint off some of the house boards.
He said he would like to pick up a piece of the sample siding color on 10/16 or 10/17 and return on Wednesday 10/23 with painted boards for the replacement. This did not happen and I did not receive any calls or emails with further communication.
He also said I would receive a credit for the original billed service and this did not happen either.

I am rejecting this response because:
Experigreen did not follow through with a credit to my account. The refund would have greatly helped toward the cost of replacement wood and exterior paint for my house.I did receive a message to call Experigreen, but I see no point in continuing to try to work with this company anymore as they do not follow their phone calls with action.
It should not take this much time, effort and frustration to get a company to take responsibility for the damage they caused. My only recourse at this time is to file the damage cost with small claims court and warn potential customers through ****** and social media. The Better Business Bureau should not give this company a pass.

I am rejecting this response because:
I only have 7 days to accept or reject their response with the BBB and this whole process has been unsatisfactory. A check is supposed to be coming in a few weeks?? It seems unusual that this company would not follow standard business procedures and apply the credit back to my credit card used for the original payment. It seems a little unethical to give this company a pass if I don't continue to keep rejecting the responses. Consumers need to be aware of how long a process it is to force this company to do the right thing.Initial Complaint

In spring 2024, I signed up for weed control services with Experigreen. I was offere pest control & said "No, I have Terminex for that, they are cheaper." I was offered price match and I said "No because after a year you will just raise the rate". At this point I was very adamant the section of grass by my driveway be treated as half of the piece of land is mine. I stated "I canceled you guys in 2021 because it never got treated. I was assured it was in the notes of my account to treat that part. We finished discussing what my services will entail & I provided my credit card number. A few weeks later, weed treatment started. A couple weeks after that, Terminex treated for pests. Two days later, Experigreen treated for pests also. I asked why he was here so soon after weed service and he said pest control. I immediately called Experigreen to tell them I declined pest control services & told them about the conversation I had with their customer service representative. I was informed I would be getting a refund of $224.26. I kept checking my credit card statement for the refund. After waiting 7 weeks, I called about my refund. I was told refund was processed July 1, 2024 and a check was mailed. I responded I never got it. The woman said it can take up to 4 weeks. I said Its been almost 7. She said Well, 4 to 8 weeks. At this time, I cancelled my service over no refund and not treating the area by the driveway. I was told approximately $88 would be refunded to card on file. Never received credit. On September 9th, I spoke to ******* & explained the entire story. I told her I can prove the area by the driveways doesnt get treated with video proof. ******* told me the $88 will also be in a check. ******* said she would check into this for me. On 9/18/24 ******* is surprised I havent received the refunds. Shes getting a different manager involved. I think Ive waited long enough for my $300.Business Response

Requested lawn service from Experigreen in spring of 2023. Paid for one year (2023) via credit card at that time while on the phone. Explicitly told the company that this was for ONE YEAR ONLY (2023). Company treated the lawn spring of 2024. I called the company and told them that this treatment was not authorized, and that the agreement for services was for 2023 only, therefore was not paying for the spring 2023 treatment. The *** said ok, and will document the conversation. Multiple bills for this service were received, each one followed with a phone call to the company to reiterate that the 2023 agreement was not to continue into 2024. Now we have received notice that the account has been sent to collections. Please help.Business Response

I hired experigreen to fertilize my lawn, this took place in april of 2024. during the phone conversation I told a ******* ***** the sales *** to make sure they do not feritilize my backyard as I have 2 small dogs and I dont want them sick. He agreed. In august of 2024 my 18 month old puppy became very ill. Aproximately 1 week after the July treatment to my lawn. I took her to the vet, they found she was anemic and very ill. She was placed on steroids. 5 days later she was gasping for air and became very lethargic. I rushed her to a vet urgent care. They ran tests an took blood. They said she has zinc poisoning and asked if she had eaten any pennies. I responded no. They wanted to do xrays and more tests, but 15 minutes later she died in my arms. it wasnt until august 28 2024 while sitting at home I noticed experigreen was doing my lawn again, this time since I was home I saw him spreading fertilizer in my backyard. This made me start my investigation into what was in their fertilizer. I discovered they use zinc. Ive given them many opportunities to make retribution to me. They finally got a lawyer and informed me to only contact him or the insurance company. I spent aprox $250 for the fertilizer, nearly $1000 on my puppy with blood work etcInitial Complaint

Last yr they did a lousy job treating my yrd. I could prove with my videos that 2x they only did 1/2 of the yrd. However, I had pd for a complete yr & finished it out. I told them at the end of the yr (2023) that I was through with them. In the spring of 2024 they came out & treated my yrd, they said it was "automatic" & they billed me $80+. I called & rehearsed & received phone calls from people in charge offering free treatment if I'd continue. I said, "NO!" They said that they have removed my bill from their accounts. HOWEVER, a different ***** billing, calls me almost EVERY Day telling me that I owe. I have called them back, explained & talked to about 6 people, they always apologize & tell me that they will run it up. Next day? Another call. I just want it stopped. I never want to hear of this **** or from this *** again in my life.Business Response
