1 starWe bought an older home (built in late 1800s) in January of 2021. Once we moved in, we discovered that the upstairs master bedroom was not getting heat from the furnace. We realized then that the furnace is both old (although functioning well), but undersized for the size of the home after the previous homeowners added on. We called HCE to see what our options were. They told us the ducts were not hooked up properly, and the furnace was too small for the size of the house. The option they gave us was to install two mini-split heating and cooling units, and to unhook the master bedroom from the ***** We didnt know much about these systems, but were assured by the salesman and techs that it would be cheaper and more energy efficient than a brand new furnace for the size we needed. We were told that these would replace the need to be hooked up to the ***** and they would 100% replace the heating and cooling for this room. We have a large master bedroom, around 780 square feet, so they said we had to have two of them installed for proper heat and cooling coverage of the room. We agreed, trusting them completely. The work was done in early 2021, around Feb. or March I believe. The total cost was nearly $18K, which we financed to be able to make payments on it. The first time it got really cold the following winter (less than 20F), the units stopped putting out heat. They were only hissing out lukewarm air. Thinking something was wrong or broken, we called the company, and they sent a tech to look at them. The tech said to me, Nothings wrong with them. They are working like they are supposed to. But these arent meant to replace year round heating and cooling. They are more of a 3 seasons room thing. They never work when it gets this cold-its just the way they are made. WHAT? Then why did your sales person and techs tell us it they were?? We called to complain, and they said, "there's nothing we can do." This place is a HUGE rip off.Review fromMark T

1 starI called home comfort to fix my exhaust on my boiler. They showed up and recommended me to replace my unit. I only could afford them to fix my exhaust. They did their " maintenance" and told me they would call me when the parts come in. I called them 2 days later to check if they knew when parts would be. They said they would have their tech call me. I was never called. I called another 2 days later and they said they would check and calle back. They never called again. I called them 2 weeks later to see what going on. They told me they would check on my parts. I told them not to bother I already called a company called " the Mechanical Guy" they did cheaper and had parts on hand. I asked them why their tech would forge my signature on the check list saying what was done that day. They couldn't give me an answer and said they did nothing wrong. Their tech before he left told me there was zero carbon dioxide coming from my unit. Even with the holes in the exhaust. The Mechanical Guy informed me there was CO2 coming from my unit. Don't use Home Comfort Experts. All they want to do is sell you something new. If you don't bite on their sales pitch they will ghost you. You think they will come fix your furnace or ac but they never call you again.Review fromElizabeth K

1 starI had them out to fix a gurgle meaning I was getting a blockage. Everything All my drains still worked. A tech came out listened then said he needed help so would have to come back next day. Ok. Two show up run machine twenty minutes, tells me he cant get clog he will have a guy come with a better machine. I paid ****** and now my toilet wont flush right and shower floods only after they left. *** comes next day and tells me there is a clog 17 feet outside my house and they will have to dig it up to get clog. ******* is the estimate. No sleep or eating two days worries of how to pay. I had to get a plunger for my shower to not over flow. 2 days later I was plunging my shower and a big release and clog gone. I was expecting to hear from anyone from the company for an apology and maybe some of the ****** back I paid since they did nothing for my problem and tried to rip me off for *******. Never heard from anyone from company. I would never recommend them for work as I feel they just create problems so you pay more money..Review fromKa B

Home Comfort came on time, was very efficient, and professional. Our installation required them to go downstairs to the main furnace, outside to the A/C unit, and inside in the family room addition. That's a lot of steps! Throughout it all, the technicians never complained, and worked efficiently. They ran into one significant problem (NOT something Home Comfort caused), and worked to problem solve an figure it out. One of the technicians had to go back to their main office for a part, but he did so quickly while the other tech worked on other things. We've used Home Comfort for several big, complicated jobs, and they always come through. I'm surprised at the one star reviews--we have had nothing but quality service. ************************* was especially professional.Home Comfort Experts

2 starsThe salesman was so excited to make this sale that he never explained that we were getting a heat pump. Why is it so noisy?? Loud? We live in a ***** of ****** and are very close to our neighbors. This noise is annoying to say the least. Of course it would be loud in summer but the home sharing our side yard would also have their A/C in use. Thus the neighbors may not notice the summer noise so much. He never said that when the furnace ran it would be running outside. We only found that out when we asked the Technician at completion, if we should cover the A/C for the winter. You explained nothing about our equipment. The salesman also said we could adjust it via Bluetooth from our iPhone app. We have sent the Salesman 4 emails since our January 2023 install and have never received an answer. We feel that he has had plenty of time to answer be now (2/28/2024). It also took 3 days during cold weather to install and our salesman had said it would be in after one full day of 8 hours. The final day they did not complete and leave until 9:00 PM. We feel that he has taken total advantage of the fact that we are not experts in this field and were in need of a heating solution. He had said he would drop off some plug in heaters for our use during install and never did. This is all unacceptable for a business with such high praise in their reviews. The Technicians were all very professional and answered all of our concerns. But I feel that the salesman was just anxious for another commission.Review fromGary H

1 starContacted Home Comfort via text for a quote for a $99 Diagnostic and Service Fee plus $69 Furnace cleaning fee. This written quote was from the home office. Service tech came out and told us that he would make sure our heat would be working before he left but that he did not have enough time to clean the furnace as promised by the home office. Tech handed us a brochure for their Comfort Club Membership and tried to do a hard sell trying to get us to sigh up for this future service. ************* took approx ***** minutes. When he was told all we wanted was to get heat in the house and that we might discuss the membership later he started his diagnosis of our lack of heat. Tech walked into house, turned up thermostat, walked to furnace, removed 4 screws from exterior panel and observed a flashing light, looked at troubleshooting menu on panel and then proceeded to tell me that he did not know what was wrong. He would have to dig further into the furnace to see what parts that need to replaced (so far we only worked on unit for approx **** minutes). He announced that to perform further diagnosis he would have to remove another panel that it would cost me another $135 plus parts and that he could fix the furnace today if he had the parts on his truck. The tech when shown the quote for $99 from the home office, he said they were wrong. He called home office and told us that he had been Instructed to leave and someone else would come out the next day. Nobody came, called and left messages for supervisor for 3 days, no supervisor ever called back. Now we had no heat for 5 days. Tech told us that we needed to use fireplace to keep warm when he left. He also told us that the $99 fee was only for 15 minutes of diagnostic work and that any other diagnostic work fees was determined by him independent from the home office. On day 5 of no heat we called another heating service, they came out, had heat within 10 -15 minutes, no parts needed. Zero stars for H CReview fromAndrea W

I called Home Comfort Experts because I googled them and saw that they had a 5 star review and that they had claimed to have an electrician. I was seeking help for a light fixture that I believed might be faulty and when I called they said that they didn't have an electrician at this time. I began to ask questions about their services for air duct cleaning and the woman I was speaking too was telling me about their monthly membership to include heating, cooling and plumbing that would be ***** a month and that with this membership it would give a discount on services. She informed me of a flat rate fee for the air duct cleaning of around 900. I told her that my house was only a 3 bedroom one bath **** sq ft and asked why it was so much. She explained that it was that high because unlike their competitors they were more through and it takes about 3hours.She said that with the membership that it would be discounted but didn't really say by much. As the conversation continued I had mentioned that I wanted to have my furnace looked at because I hadn't had it looked at since it was built she set up an appointment told me the price and I agreed to the monthly membership. She did inform me that there were no refunds once enrolled. The next day I called to cancel because I found someone cheaper then them and the person I spoke to told me that they would see what they could due as far as the return since it was less then a day.I understand that if you join a membership and services are rendered your not going to get a refund but it was less than 24 hours when I made the appointment and gave more than 24 hours notice of the appointment there should be a refund with out hesitation. They told me that it could take up to 3 weeks if they decide to give a refund.They charge way to much for their services and bait you with this so called membership and then get you on a technicality so do your homework before you call them. Hello- We spoke with this customer and the customer asked on the original call if there was a cancellation fee- we told her there was no cancellation fee or refunds on memberships prior to her signing up with our services.
Everything was explained on the initial call prior to her paying and accepting our terms.

One star is way to generous, let me start of by telling who are the most amazing home heating/cooling/plumbing service is....******* Service! Now let me tell you about what happened...woke no hot water, ***************************** was the home comfort expert who came out, he didn't even look at our water heater, he saw a whirlpool sign on our heater and then told us we needed to order our own parts which would be around $300-$500, and then labored would be $700, again never LOOKED at the water heater. He then told my husband we could finance a brand new water heater for $2131. I told my husband with these prices let's get a 2nd opinion. We called ******* and they said it was going to $80 to come out. Before coming this awesome tech named **** called and wanted to walk my husband through a few things before coming out so maybe we could fix it without being charged. He asked my husband to sweep under the water heater and look for a little switch. My husband did that and hit the switch which ended up being an emergency safety switch most people know nothing about. Within an hour we had hot running water. ******* felt so bad because we used home comfort and they charged $124 for nothing, again ***************************** with home comfort didn't even look at our heater. And my husband fixed it with the guidance of ******* Service. We tried calling Homecomfort immediately to report what happened every day for a week with a reply of someone will call you back....a month later no call back from the supervisor, no refund. How do you charge someone who trusts you and don't even look at the water heater and apparently their techs don't know anything about what their doing. Don't waste your time with this company....******************* service.....make sure you ask for **** you will not be disappointedHome Comfort Experts
