      I always do my own, but wanted to make sure taxes for my deceased ex-husband were done correctly this year. When I picked them up the first time, the names and addresses for lesee and landlord were incorrect on the renter's deduction form. I called back with the correct information. I also questioned that it was noted that IN taxes were e-file. They can't be due to required supporting documentation. When I asked at the front desk, *** said it was probably just automatic, but to disregard. When I went to pick them up, it was still incorrect. **** said "I swear you told me Carmel." ** apology. **, ****** was the incorrect information listed on the form. I had to sign a form about declining e-file services. When reading through the 1040 form today, I had a question about a required form due to the death. **** couldn't answer and was going to refer me to yet another person. I did receive his Indiana refund, but has trouble depositing the check that came in his name, but was supposed to come in my name. Still no federal refund, so I followed up on 4/11/24 online. ** record of being filed. I looked closer at the 1310 form and found more errors in the SS#s, which now requires an addendum be filed. Doing taxes for a deceased person requires a level of sensitivity. "Wow, you must have gotten a good divorce settlement" when asking a question about life insurance does not meet that criteria. Way too many errors, not enough attention to detail, and poor service recovery and client sensitivity. For $350.00, it should be right the first time. Maybe if Mr. ********************** spent more time paying attention during the appointment than telling tales about days at IU and inappropriately relaying information about human trafficking rings in ***************, everything would be correct. He was also incredibly rude when I asked to talk with him 4/12/24 when picking up the taxes. I asked for a refund and he said **t a chance, told me to leave, and walked away while I was talking.

       I am rejecting this response because: Mr. Magley's response is factually inaccurate.  In addition, his repeat apology does not compensate for the poor service, poor service recovery, delays in finalizing taxes for a deceased person, and errors in completing the work.  Please see attached for additional information.

      We have read her Consumer Rejection and understand it.  However, we have interviewed on our end everyone that was involved in the preparation (myself) and staff, clients etc. that witnessed her outburst in and outside our office.  Notwithstanding, our Company policy in the case of an error committed by our firm is to remedy that error at no cost to the client.  As a result, the original fee charged is not reduced or refunded because we made an error and fixed it causing the client no financial harm.  In this particular case, we remedied the error immediately and per our understanding she has received the correct refund.  In conclusion, in following our policy we will not be refunding any portion of the fee since the matter was resolved in an expedited manner.
