    My husband and I are victims of unethical business practices by Eric Trowbridge Designs, LLC. Complete kitchen demolition and remodel. Contract began July 24, 2023. We paid 50% down, $11,000.00 July 24, 2023. This check was deposited by the owner July 25, 2023. Contract stipulated a 10 - 12 week finish time. Our kitchen was demolished and some work done October, 2023. We were then billed and paid another $3,689.00. Since October, 2023, no more remodeling has been done save for some minor electrical work. Custom cabinets were included but no proof of completion has been offered, although requested. No photos of any material purchased, although requested several times. Finish promise dates from owner were November, December, January, at the latest early February, March, and finally April or May. Each resume date came and went, no show, no call. We are now at 36 weeks since 50% down payment and 23 weeks living with a demolished kitchen. Our new appliances have been sitting in our garage since August, 2023. We have deduced that materials are not available and our funds were misappropriated by the owner. We pleaded, cajoled, and finally demanded that he finish the job, to no avail. We recently spoke out to the local media and the owner became angry. He sent very aggressive texts. Not only is his behavior unprofessional, it's alarming. He has threatened to *** us for slander and defamation of character. He defamed himself. We asked for a refund of our money paid for the work not performed and material not produced or provided. He refused. We asked for our material such as countertop material, cabinets, etc. to go toward what he owes us. No photos, or actual material have been offered to date although requested many, many times. It has become apparent that he has misappropriated our funds paid last year and abandoned the project. We are out approximately $9,900.00. I hope this complaint keeps others from this fate.

    Dear ***/*****,I am formally file a complaint against Eric Trowbridge Design LLC, operated by Mr. **** **********************. I believe I have been a victim of unethical business practices, and I hope this complaint can prevent others from experiencing the same.In April 2023, I entered a contract with Eric Trowbridge Design LLC for a project. As per our agreement, I provided substantial funds to Mr. ********************** to facilitate the commencement and progression of the project (full list and accounting of funds is available upon request).Regrettably, I discovered that a significant portion of the funds I provided were not utilized as intended for my project. Specifically, Mr. ********************** misappropriated approximately $17,000 meant for countertops (said he was completing order with ************ (vendor) but in fact, did NOT complete this) and an additional $3,000 for other tile (said he was ordering tile from Louisville Tile (vendor) but never completed it). Upon confronting Mr. ********************** (recording and transcript are attached), he openly admitted to this misappropriation. This blatant misuse of funds has not only hindered the progress of my project but also resulted in a substantial financial loss on my end. A picture of the kitchen in its current state (as of November 2, 2023) is below. When I demanded a refund for the misappropriated amounts, Mr. ********************** not only refused but also resorted to threatening behavior during our phone conversation. Such conduct is not only unprofessional but also alarming, and I believe it warrants the attention of regulatory authorities.I entrusted Eric Trowbridge Design LLC with my hard-earned money based on the reputation and promises made by Mr. **********************. My trust, unfortunately, was misplaced, and I now find myself facing a predicament no consumer should ever endure.I kindly request the Better Business Bureau to investigate this matter thoroughly and take appropriate action against Eric Trowbridge Design LLC. Thank you.
