I recently purchased new tires online for our 2015 **** F-350 Dually. I made an appointment with ******** Automotive since we have had a long-standing working relationship with ********************* and ******** Automotive. I made the appointment for Wednesday, April 10th, 2024 to have them installed. I dropped the truck off prior to 8:00 and spoke with ****. I received a phone call in the afternoon by owner, *********************, that the truck was done, everything went well, and that we could pick it up. My wife, ****, picked the truck up after hours and everything appeared to be ok. It was not. Please see the attached documentation for the full explanation. More pictures are available upon request.

      RE:ID ********

      In response to **************** complaint,

During a visual inspection, I informed ************ that the scratches on his wheels were not caused by the tire equipment at ******** Automotive. His wheels are 9 years old and have corrosion and multiple scratches and nicks from road debris due to normal use.

He continued to point out multiple corrosion and scratches to his wheels. At this point I asked him how we could resolve this. He said he would talk to his wife and let me know.

*********** called back on 4/16/24 and asked me to replace both front wheels. I informed him that he could purchase 2 new wheels and 1 center cap and I would reimburse him but he would need to have someone else install them as he is not satisfied with our work.

At that time ************ informed me that if that was the case he was now demanding us to replace 4 wheels.

At this point I felt as though he was trying to take advantage of us and I replied that I was done and hung up the phone.

Even though as previously stated, **************** wheels were scratched and have corrosion and miscellaneous road debris damage, he is trying to take advantage of us and my offer to replace 2 wheels and a center cap.

I no longer wish to do business with ************.

      Thank you for your consideration,

      *********************
      Owner,******** Automotive Repair, Inc.

      Customer Answer

      Date: 04/23/2024

I am rejecting this response because:

In response to **** Barrons reply,

I hand wash the truck all of the time and I am perfectly aware of what shape my wheels were in prior to having new tires put on. There were no deep scratches on the aluminum wheels as now shown in the pictures.

I am aware that there are some corrosion spots in the holes of the wheels. The deep scratches are definitely not from road debris nor are the uniform puncture marks on the rear wheels. The puncture marks on the inside of the wheels are from their tire-changing machine gripping the finished side of the aluminum wheel. We have pictures of said marks in multiple uniformly spaced spots on the rear wheels if needed. ********************* even admitted to me when I was pointing out the damage that those puncture marks were from their tire-changing machine gripping the aluminum wheel.

I never demanded anything nor am I trying to take advantage of ********************* and ******** Automotive, I am only trying to seek out a fair and reasonable settlement for the damage caused to all 4 of my aluminum wheels and 1 center cap due to the installers negligence during my installation. A settlement could not be reached when **** says I'm done and hangs up on me which has led me to post this complaint.

It is unfortunate that **** is choosing to not do business with me anymore in the future. I have been using Barrons Automotive since ***** father ***** owned it. I even helped move the customer counters to this location. I have always been a good paying customer throughout our long, working relationship even paying my bill when his mechanics were unable to fix my sons car.

I would like for ********************* and Barrons Automotive to stand behind their work and make the wrong right, I will then respect his wishes and no longer ask for him to work on any of my vehicles.

As previously stated, customers wheels had misc scratches, corrosion and damage from debris
before supplied tires were installed. Our tire equipment does not contact the wheels in the areas that were scratched.
I will not replace these wheels due to previous damage and age.
