On Tuesday, June 24, 2025, I, ******* ********, had my vehicle towed to Lonsbury Garage in Angola, *******. The vehicle had stopped functioning properly, and didnt want to start or stay running. Lonsbury Garage started their inspection of the vehicle on June 25, 2025. They charged me $227.46 to inspect the vehicle. The initial repair order, to fix the issues, was $4,806.73. However, after a warranty company became involved in potential payment, Lonsbury made a total of 3 different estimate/repair orders in which each time the total increased substantially. The second estimate totaled $8330.59. The third totaled $13,317.52. And the final estimate totaled $14,526.11, which is more than my 2015 GMC Terrain is worth. Some of the services that they decided to do were initially declined by me. They also opted to put a brand new engine in it that cost $9,951.95. After I was told that the warranty company approved an engine replacement instead of a timing chain repair, I agreed with the engine being replaced but not with one that is worth more than my vehicle. If I wouldve been asked, I wouldve agreed to a refurbished engine or something substantially less than the top of the line new motor. I cant afford the bill as it sits and shouldnt be held responsible for someone else acting as my agent, making decisions on my behalf, or increasing the total cost to where it is unreasonably high priced. Superior Auto, in Angola, *******, stated that they would help me with the costs by changing my loan arrangement to include the difference of what the warranty company didnt cover (it was capped at $5000). Lonsbury was also aware of this situation. However, they cannot rewrite my loan for almost $10,000 more. So my vehicle is sitting at Lonsbury Garage because they made decisions on behalf of myself that just are not fair. I am looking for help in getting this matter handled in a timely manner because its been almost a month without my vehicle and I need it.

      To whom it may concern,

I have spoken with the employee in charge of this repair order and confirmed that we totally dropped the ball on communication. Disciplinary action has been taken with said employee.

My general manager, ***, has spoken with **** and advised him there are no charges to him on the repairs made due to our complete lack of communication.

**** is to come pick up the vehicle this afternoon, we have washed it and filled up his gas tank for him.

      The issue should be resolved.

On September 29, 2022 our 2014 ***** Odessey was towed to Lonsbury Garage in ****** with flashing check engine lights. Lonsbury was willing to work with our extended warranty and we so appreciated their efforts on their part however the repair took 10 weeks and included them backing into a vehicle while in their garage. No rental was provided for us during this time. They did fix the dent but did not fix the paint touch up. Within 12 hours of getting our van back the van was driven 2 blocks and had to turn around because the check engine light was blinking again. By the time I returned to the edge of my driveway- 2 blocks, all power, steering, and brakes were gone. The vehicle was towed again back to Lonsbury garage. It was determined that THEY had neglected to do an oil change and antifreeze got into the crank shaft destroying our engine. 6 weeks later - a total of 16 weeks we got our van back with ********* replacing the engine. We were given a 90 day warranty on the engine. Note no rental was provided for us as they only had courtesy vehicles and they were too small for our needs with kids and car seats. In July we noticed some fluid on the garage floor. We knew it was past our 90 days so we scheduled it with another service garage. Thinking it was a water pump problem the mechanic began the replacement and found that our engine was cracked. It is his belief we got a bad engine. The vehicle was driven in normal circumstances and although it was past 90 days nothing out of the ordinary was expected of the vehicle. Lonsbury garage was contacted and they declined to help with the problem because we had a warranty. Our warranty refuses to cover cost because it is not a lubricanted part. We are no replacing the defective engine that they installed at our expense. Lonsbury Garage owes us some portion of the engine repair costs.

On 8/21/2023 at 10:38 I, ****************************, President of SDC Automotive LLC, called and spoke with ***. I advised I had not received any communication about the job being completed or that the extended warranty did not cover the repairs needed. I apologized about the entire situation and advised I will be sending a check in the amount of $3320.00 to cover the cost of the replacement engine.

The check was mailed out on 8/21/2023 and it is check number ****.
