    This is my second encounter with this employee, ***. The first encounter was over the phone, and I reported her and honestly don't think she received any corrective action regarding my concerns about how poorly she handled me while taking my order by phone. The owner added insult to injury, only explaining to me how *** never received a complaint and boldly telling me that he did not believe she handled me unprofessionally. I don't recommend that anyone of color use this bakery, given the way I was treated today by employee ***. She told me that I was nasty and that you could try to take my cake order away from me after I told her that I was going to follow up with a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. This all started because I made her aware that I paid for a crown that wasn't on the cake and that the doves that I asked for weren't on the cake as well. She told me that I just wanted something for nothing and that I didn't have the money to pay for the crown. Yes, my tone in my voice did escalate with her because she insulted me in front of other customers and employees. You could even see her giving me the middle finger, telling me to **** off as I was exiting the door, and all I said was that I would be back again to order a cake. She wasn't so happy about that. She took my receipt and tossed it in the trash can. I asked if I could have my receipt. You could see her attempting to go into the trash to get me the receipt. I told her that I wanted a new receipt, but this is also a food safety issue. She never washed her hands after going into the trash, but you could see her on video footage going into the cake refrigeration upfront where the cakes are displayed, showing the customer the food and taking it to the back. *** and other employees also had on outside hoodies and no gloves or hairnets and were waiting on customers without having their hair in a ponytail or pinup. I also would be reporting this to the 311-food department; I also have body cam footage of my encounter with ***.

    On today November 11, 2022 my sister and I went to Calumet Bakery as we do all year around for celebrations. We were being assisted by ****** and we had two separate orders. The manager *** begin to be very rude and attempt to make us rush our orders regardless to what we actually wanted and what we showed to ******. I asked The manager *** for another manager because of her tone and she kept repeating that she was the manager and she did not care what my concern was. I asked her for her full name to file a formal complaint and she told me that i need to go and since i asked her again she aggressively yelled you need to get these black m****F*****s out of here now. After the general manager **** came and tried to calm her down as well as my sister who began to come to my defense because *** was racist and rude towards me. It is very disheartening to be treated this way at a place that you and your family come to yearly for celebrations and it is disgusting that this person *** is the Manager for such a loving company. After this horrible racist experience we left the bakery and individuals who were i side the bakery at the time if the incident provided us with a video of *** calling us black Mfs we are very said about this and will be reaching out to every media outlet to showcase the mistreatment and racism still today towards black individuals. This is not the first time *** has treated people this way. Her employee stated during the incident that she is so tired of Any doing this to people and she hope she is dealt with. *** will tear down this business with her hate and once the video is played business with stop unfortunately. My family and I are requesting that this person *** is terminated immediately. No one deserves to be treated this way. No one. All lives matter.
